Ranchi University PhD Admission 2023 Notification
Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria as in Regulations I (a) or (b) and not covered under 1 (c) and seeking admission to the Ph.D. Programme of Ranchi University shall be required to take a qualifying examination which will be termed as Ph.D. Entrance Test.
The purpose of the qualifying examination is to identify those candidates who are qualified and have the aptitude to work towards the Ph.D. degree.
This examination shall test the basic competency of the applicant across a broad range of relevant topics.
The qualifying examination shall be of two hours duration carrying 100 marks.

There will be 100 multiple choice objective type questions each carrying one mark. The questions shall be categorized into two groups i.c. Group A and Group B.
Group A: Basic concept of Research Methodology, which shall have 20 questions and shall be common for all subjects.
Group B: Understanding of the subject matter as per Post Graduation Syllabus of Ranchi University from compulsory papers of the subject concerned, which shall have 80 questions.
The merit list will be prepared for admission to Ph.D. Programme shall be according to the roster for admission followed by Ranchi University.

The minimum cut-off marks in the entrance test to qualify for admission to Ph.D. Programme shall be 50 for General and B.C, and 45 for S.C/S.T. candidates.

Ranchi University PhD Admission 2023: Eligibility
This may be noted that students of M.B.A/C.S. & C.A.Cost Mgt, MA (Public Administration) M.A. (Human Rights), M.A. (Rural Development). MA Uyotinvigyan, MA ICND/Food and Nutrition/Fashion Desings (Psychotherapy), MA (Archaeology and Museology), M.CA. M.Sc. mation Technology) M.Sc. (tiotechnology/Microbiology), M.Sc. ctronics & Communication) and M.A. (Mass Communication) shall be eligible to apply for Ph.D research programme in the subjects Commerce Political Science Sociology, Anthropology, Sanskrit, Home Science. Pychology, History, Mathematics, Botany Zoology, Physics and in Language/Literature of Ranchi University respectively.
The validity of the results of the previous Ph.D. Entrance Tests of the University shall cease to be operative from the date of publication of the result of the succeeding Ph.D. Entrance Test
