Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Nalanda University in the following broad areas of research:

  1. School of Historical Studies: Archaeology; Civilizational Interaction
  2. School of Ecology and Environment Studies: Interface of Science; Society and Policy; Natural Resource Management
  3. School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy & Comparative Religions: Buddhism; Hinduism; Indian Philosophical Schools; Indian Knowledge System
  4. School of Languages & Literature/ Humanities: Literature, Linguistics, and Translation
  5. School of Management Studies: Sustainability Management; Organization behavior; Accounting and Finance

ELIGIBILITY: Nalanda University Post Doctoral Fellowship 2023-24

  1. Persons who have a Ph.D. degree and have published research work (minimum of five high quality research publications) to their credit may apply for the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University.
  2. Post-Doctoral Fellowships will be available to Indian as well as Foreign Nationals.
  3. The University reserves the right to admit or not to admit a Post-Doctoral Fellow.

SELECTION: Nalanda University Post Doctoral Fellowship 2023-24 Notification

  1. The selection of the Post-Doctoral Fellow shall be made on the basis of the research area upon the recommendations of a Selection Committee constituted by the Authority.
  2. The Competent Authority shall decide the maximum number of post-doctoral fellows to be admitted.
  3. The award of Post-Doctoral Fellowship will be through presentation-cum-interview or as decided by the Authority. The foreign applicants are exempted from appearing physically before the Selection Committee, and may be interviewed online.

GENERAL: Nalanda University Post Doctoral Fellowship 2023-24

  1. A Post-Doctoral Fellow shall be entitled for the post-doctoral fellowship for a minimum of two semesters and any extension shall be based upon review of the research accomplished by the Post-Doctoral Fellow during the said tenure.
  2. A Post-Doctoral Fellow shall be entitled to receive an all-inclusive monthly fellowship of Rs. 75,000/- (Seventy Five Thousand only). Hostel accommodation shall be provided by the University and the fellow shall bear the charges towards accommodation, food etc. as applicable as per norms of the University. A contingency grant Rs.50, 000/ year will be granted to the Post-Doctoral Fellow.
  3. The Post-Doctoral Fellow shall not accept or hold any appointment, paid or otherwise nor receive any emoluments, salary, stipend, consultancy, etc. from any other sources during the tenure of the fellowship.
