CIET Recruitment 2024: Project Translation Posts

The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), a constituent of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) invites application from eligible candidates to fill up the following posts (Contractual) to work for the project Translation of NCERT contents in 22 languages.

The selected candidates shall have to work at CIET-NCERT, New Delhi initially upto 31 March, 2025. Following are the details of each post:

Essential Qualifications: Post graduation in relevant subjects from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.NET/SET/SLET Qualified

OR exempted from NET as per UGC regulations for Assistant Professor at entry level.

Desirable: Ph.D in relevant subjectGood Communication skill in English and HindiKnowledge of Research Methodology – Development of research tools, collection and analysis of data, report writing etc.Proficient in ET/ICT skill

Experience: At least 3 years of experience of working as an academic expert in relevant subject, eContent development/ online course development & management, Teaching relevant subject at the level of teacher education/ Research in relevant subject/ educational projects at national/state level in the education sector and experience in Data Handling/Analysis, Report writing etc.
Age: Not more than 45 years / in case of retired faculty members not more than 70 years (relaxation as per GoI norms)
2Bilingual Translator Posts-23 (English to Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malyalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and vice-versa) Number of posts 23 each for 1 language including one Indian language to English.  
Remuneration – ₹ 30000 per month (consolidated)

Essential Qualifications:   Masters degree in one of the Schedule VIII languages with 55% marks or equivalent Grade.English as a subject at Graduation LevelGood typing skill in respective language  
Desirable: Proficiency in both English and the target language. Vice- versa for the applicant for English.M.Phil/Ph.D in specific languageA degree in Education (M.Ed./M.A. Education) from a recognised UniversityAt least 2 years of experience of working as a translator in educational projects at national/state level in the education sector.  
Age: Below 45 years (relaxation as per GoI norms)
3Junior Project Fellow (JPF). Posts-4 (1 each in English, Hindi , Urdu and other scheduled VIII languages)  
Remuneration: 31,000/- (For NET)   Rs. 29,000 (For Non- NET (Consolidated)

Essential Qualification: Master degree from a recognized University/ Institute in relevant or allied subject with 55% marks or equivalent Grade
Desirable: Diploma in any one Schedule VIII language or as a subject at graduation level.Knowledge of Research Methodology – Development of research tools, collection and analysis of data, report writing etc.Good command over English and Hindi for oral and written communication; good interpersonal skills, proficiency in working with computers – word processing, spreadsheet, presentation etc.Proficiency in ET/ICT  
Age: Not more than 40 years (relaxation as per GoI norms)

CIET Recruitment 2024: Project Translation Posts

Candidates will have to report for the interview on the fixed date and report latest by 9.00 a.m. to the Section Officer (SO), Planning & Research Division (P&RD), Room No.242, CIET 2nd floor, Chacha Nehru Bhawan, CIET, NCERT, New Delhi-110 016 with copies of original certificates and testimonials for verification.

  1. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility conditions in terms of (i) educational qualifications (ii) experience etc.
  2. These posts are purely temporary and posts may increase/decrease as per need.
  3. Candidates already in a job should forward their applications through their employer and/or come with a “No Objection Certificate”, without which the candidate will not be allowed to appear for this interview.
  4. Candidate should bring at the time of interview along with bio-data in support of their degree and experiences in the prescribed forms only.
  5. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview
  6. If selected, candidates may be required to join immediately.
  7. Candidates should bring along with them their written and/or published work, if any, (including their art work, Multimedia, Graphics, Animation, Audio/Videos Advertisement/Promos, Books, Journals, Thesis/Dissertation Magazines, etc).
  8. The Council reserves the right to relax any of the requirements i.e. educational qualification, experience etc. in exceptional cases.
