In case of non-receipt of Admit Card or any difficulty in downloading of Admit Cards, Candidates may contact the Commission’s Office with proper Id proof & two copies of recent passport size Photograph for issuing duplicate Admit Card on 16.08.2022 & 17.08.2022 between 11.00 am to 4.00 pm.

A. Scheme of Examination:
The examination will be held in two successive stages, viz. (1) Written Test (Objective Type), (2) Personality Test, as detailed below:
Written Test: 200 marks
The OMR based Written Examination will consist of only one paper containing Multiple Choice Objective Type 100 Questions carrying 2 marks each will be conducted. There will be negative marking of 1 (one) mark each for every incorrect/wrong answer. Questions will be set in English and time allowed will be 2 (two) hours.
Personality Test: 40 marks
The Personality test will be held at the Commission’s office in Kolkata. Candidates about 3 (three) times of the vacancy, will be called on merit basis for Personality Test, subject to obtaining qualifying marks @ 45% for General Candidates, @ 40% 0.B.C. (A) & O.B.C. (B) Candidates and @ 35% for S.C., S.T. & P.H. Candidates.
However, the Commission reserves the right to relax the qualifying marks for all or any category of Candidates depending upon the situation. Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the Written Examination & Personality Test.
The West Bengal Municipal Service Commission will have the discretion of fixing qualifying marks in the Written Test or in the Personality Test and in the aggregate.
B. Syllabus for the Written Test: –
The examination will consist of only one paper on
(i) General Studies (Matters of common experience including general knowledge, everyday science, current events and problems with special reference to India, elementary knowledge of Indian history and Indian Geography, etc.)
(iii) Mathematics (question will set on the basis of the syllabus of Madhyamik Examination of the WBBSE) with Mental Ability and reasoning.
Assessment and evaluation of answer scripts done by the Commission shall be final and shall not be opened to scrutiny by any external authority.
