West Bengal TET Exam 2023

PERTAINING TO HOLDING THE TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST-2023 (TET-2023) (PRIMARY) IN ADHERENCE TO NCTE GUIDELINES ISSUED FROM TIME TO TIME

It is hereby notified for information that the West Bengal Board of Primary Education will conduct Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2023 on 10/12/2023 (Sunday) across West Bengal, in exercise of its statutory powers in adherence to NCTE guidelines.

Only such applicants who have acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE Notifications dated 25/08/2010 read with 29/07/2011 are eligible to apply for TET-2023. The academic and professional qualifications for applying in TET-2023 are stated infra:

Eligibility for applying in TET-2023:

(1) Persons having:

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (R.C.I.)

OR

Graduation and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

5% relaxation of marks in Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination (i.e. 45%) will be allowed for the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-A and OBC-B), Exempted Category (EC), Ex-Servicemen Category, Differently Abled Category (DAC) and for DH (Die-in-harness) category candidates.

(ii) Persons who have appeared for final examination to 2-year D.El.Ed. Course from NCTE recognized institutions on the date of this notification and the result is yet to be released.

OR

Persons who have appeared for final examination to 4-year B.El.Ed. Course from NCTE recognized institutions on the date of this notification and the result is yet to be released.

OR

Persons who have appeared for final examination to 2-year D.Ed. (Special Education) Course from RCI recognized institutions on the date of this notification and the result is yet to be released.

OR

Persons who are pursuing D.El.Ed./D.Ed. (Special Education)/4-year B.El.Ed. Course in NCTE/RCI recognized institutions.

Candidates who will acquire minimum eligibility criteria beyond the date of publication of this notification will not be entertained for applying in TET-2023.

Options for First Language: Intending applicants will have to choose any one of the following languages as first language: Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Santhali, Oriya and Telugu. The choice will be on the basis of the medium of instruction in the school.

Second Language: English (for all).

Qualifying Marks:

A candidate who will score at least 60% of total marks (150) in TET will be considered as a TET-2023 qualified candidate. A relaxation of 5% (id est 55%) will be the qualifying mark for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, Differently Abled Category (DAC), Exempted Category, Ex-Servicemen Category and DH (Die-in-harness) Category candidates.

It is made abundantly clear that qualifying in TET will not confer any enforceable legal right on any applicant for being recommended and/or appointed to the post of Assistant Teachers in Govt. Aided/Govt. Sponsored/Junior Basic Primary Schools. TET Pass is merely an eligibility for being considered in the Recruitment Process to be initiated against notified vacancies.

Application Fee: WB TET Exam 2023

The Application Fee for TET-2023, to be paid through online mode *, is stated herein below:

The candidates may pay the examination fee either by Credit Card/Debit Card/Internet Banking. The additional processing charges will be applicable.

Mode of Application:

The intending eligible candidate shall have to apply online only through WBBPE website i.e. https://www.wbbprimaryeducation.org

The online application process shall commence from 19:00 hrs. of 14/09/2023 onwards and shall conclude/close on 04/10/2023 at 23:59 hrs.

The application fee can be paid till 05/10/2023 within 23:59 hrs.

NOTIFICATION For SUBMISSION OF INTERNAL MARKS OF THE D.EL.ED PART-I STUDENTS OF THE SESSION 2021-2023

It is to notify for information to all the Heads of the DIET/ Govt./ Govt. Aided/ Govt. Sponsored and Self-financed Private PTTIs that the Institutes will have to submit the Internal Marks of the D.El.Ed Part-I students for the Session 2021-2023 only in the prescribed Pro-forma of the Board to be made available in the log-in of the respective institutes on and from 14th September-2023 to 22th September-2023.

> The internal marks are to be entered into the prescribed proforma with signature/s of the concerned lecturers/teachers/evaluators/assessors and, thereafter verified and authenticated by the Heads of the concerned institutes. Finally, the marks, thus processed, should be uploaded in the institute Login as per the following guidelines:-

STEP-1

1. Go to the menu ” D.EL.ED” => “Transaction” => “Internal Marks Form”

2. Click on Search button to view the list of candidates

3. Click on the link “Internal Marks” inside the list against each candidate. 4. Enter Internal Marks subject wise and candidate wise.

5. Finally click on “Submit” button.

6. After submission of the Internal Marks of a candidate, the candidate name will disappear from the list.

AND

STEP-2

1. After Submitting Internal Marks of all the candidates, the candidates list will disappear and a link will show “Download Submitted Internal Marks Report” in the same page.

2. Download the Report of all candidates/students in PDF format.

3. The Report consists candidate wise Internal Marks which the Institute has submitted.

4. Print the PDF file and put Signature with stamp of all the subject Teachers including Head of the Institute on every page.

5. Scan the filled-in signed PDF Report (“Submitted Internal Marks Report”) and upload the PDF by clicking the “Scan File Upload” button.

6. Finally click on “Submit” button after uploading.

Both the Step-1 and Step-2 are mandatory.

➤ No request for change/ up-gradation/ revision of the same on the grounds of clerical mistakes or otherwise shall be entertained afterwards.

> Special care should be taken for uploading the correct and authentic scanned copy of the awarded marks in the prescribed Tabulation Sheet of Internal Marks, because both the filled-in-data (Step-1) including the uploaded scanned copies (Step-2) cannot be edited or deleted or modified later on manually or electronically.

Please note carefully that any submission after the stipulated last date (i.e. 22.09.2023) shall not be accepted. In that case, the result of the students of the concerned Institute/s shall remain ‘incomplete’, leading to the loss of one year for non-submission of internal marks within the mentioned last date in the prescribed manner.

What is the pass mark for WB TET 2023?

The WB TET Result 2023 will be released on 10th February 2023 by the WBBPE. Candidates belonging to the General or unreserved category need to obtain 60 percent marks in the exam, that is, 90 out of 150.

How many TET exams are there in West Bengal?

Ans: As per the WB Primary TET Exam Pattern, there will be two papers i.e Paper I for classes 1 to 5 while Paper II for classes 6 to 8. Candidates have to answer 150 answers in 150 minutes in the WB TET exam.
