Education Department, U.T., Chandigarh invites online applications from retired teachers to prepare a panel for filling up vacant post of JBT, TGT, PGT as per following details :-

(i) Candidates will be appointed on contract basis up to 31-03-2024 or till the joining of regular incumbent (i.e. by the way of direct recruitment/promotion/deputation) in their place whichever is earlier.

(ii) Eligibility:- Available vacant posts of Teachers shall be filled up by Retired Teachers of UT cadre, State of Punjab and Haryana. The applicant must be having 10 year experience in the cadre for the post of JBT, TGT and NTT and 5 years in the case of PGT. Principal/Head or any other Officer having experience as per above details will also be eligible for engagement in the respective cadre (category).

(iii) Remuneration:- Retired Teachers will be paid remuneration as per Instructions issued by Government of India from time to time and adopted by DoP Chandigarh Administration. At present as per Govt. of India memo dated 09.12.2020 adopted by DoP vide memo dated 30.06.2022 is as under:-

6.1 A fixed monthly amount shall be admissible, arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. The amount of remuneration so fixed shall remain unchanged for the term of the contract. There will be no annual increment/percentage increase during the contract period.

6.3 No increment and Dearness allowance shall be allowed during the term of the contract.

Retired teachers will not get remuneration for summer and winter vacations/holidays.

(iv) Preparing of panel:- Candidates will apply through online mode. Candidates will fill up prescribed form. Applicant will not be more than 64 years as on 1st April of the academic year of the engagement.

(v) Selection Criteria for preparing panel will be as under:-

(vi) Other terms and conditions for engagement:-

(a) Integrity of the candidate should not have been doubtful during the entire service.

(b) No disciplinary or criminal matter including FIR of any type should be pending against the candidate at the time of retirement and while considering for appointment on contract basis.

(c) No major penalty, as provided in Central/Punjab Civil Service Rules has been inflicted during the entire service or be convicted by any court of Law.

(d) The Retired Teachers will take classes/period as per workload/norms applicable for regular teacher.

(e) The maximum age up to which re-engagement on contract basis is admissible is 64 years as on 1st April of the academic year for which panel is to be prepared

(f) Teachers so engaged on contractual basis will not be part of the cadre of teachers of the School Education Department, Chandigarh.

(g) A teacher shall be engaged till he/she attains the age of 65 years or until a regular teacher joins, whichever is earlier. However, Director School Education, U.T., Chandigarh may dispense with the services of the contractual teachers so appointed at any time without giving any reason. There will be no appeal to the Director School Education, U.T., Chandigarh order.

(h) On the joining of teacher on regular basis (through direct recruitment, promotion, deputation etc.), the re-employed retired teacher in the subject/cadre who is oldest (in age) will be relieved first.

(i) Leave of absence:- Paid leave of absence may be allowed at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Accumulation of leave beyond a calendar year shall not be allowed. (Govt. of India memo dated 09.12.2020- Point 7.3)

(j) If a teacher remains absent or on leave for a continuous period of 30 days, his/her contract may be terminated.

(vii) Execution of Agreement:-An agreement will be signed by the empanelled candidates with DEO. The format of the agreement will be as per details which were available in DoP memo dated 09.10.2018.

(viii) Govt. of India letter dated 09.12.2020 duly adopted by DOP vide Memo. dated 30.06.2022 and the instructions of Deptt. of Expenditure vide Memo. dated 12.04.2017 duly adopted by Finance Department, Chandigarh dated 01.08.2017 are to be followed at the time of filling up of posts. Only alive sanctioned posts are to be filled up as per above details initially upto 31.03.2024 or by the joining of regular incumbent (i.e. by the way of direct recruitment/promotion/deputation) in their place.
