Vidyasagar University invites application from Indian Nationals for filling up of the following posts:

1. Associate Professor in Commerce: 1 (One) Post (Reserved for SC)

Revised Pay: { 1,3-1.,4001- (Academic Level – 13A) and other allowances as admissible.
(a) Commerce: Accounting and Finance

Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

(i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.

(ii) A Master’s degree in concerned/allied/relevant disciplines with at least 55% marks( or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) along with relaxations applicable to specified categories, as explained in the Note 1,.

(iii) A minimum of 8 (eight) years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or reputed research institution/industry with a number of good quality publications in reputed journals and/or publication of books.

(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicators (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out the in UGC Regulations 2016 in Appendix III Table II(B).

Additional Experiences :

(i) Contribution to education innovation, design of new curricula and courses and use of modern technology in teaching-leaming process.
(ii) Guidance of Ph.D. students/research projects.

Note- L: Relaxation of Marks for Direct Recruitment of Assistant Professor. Associate Professor and Professor:

i. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Masters level for the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled)/Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic records during direct recruitment to teaching positions. However, differently-abled (physically and visually) candidates are not eligibility for any marks relaxation in Physical Education

ii. The minimum qualifying marks of 55% is relaxable by 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) at the Master level for Ph.D. degree holders who have obtained their Masters degree prior to September 19, 1991

iii. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5o/” to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

iv. All the essential qualifications must have been obtained from a recognized University / Institute. By a recognized University / Institute is meant a University / Institute affiliated to UGC / other statutory apex bodies or recognized by the State or Central Government as a centre of higher learning. In case of a foreign University, the Degree concerned should be recognized as equivalent to its Indian counterpart by the Association of Indian Universities.

2. Medical Officer: 1 (One) Post (Unreserved)

Revised Pay: ( 79,8001- (Academic Level – 12) and other allowances as admissible.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

(i) MBBS degree from recognized University affiliated to Medical Council of India.

(i) At least 10(ten) years’ experience of medical practice in a Government / Military / Quasi Government hospital.

(ii) Registration Certificate from West Bengal Medical Council or Medical Council of India. (iii) Age not below 35 years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidates.

(iv) 10(ten) years’ experience in hospital may be relaxed in case of private practice of reputation for 15(fifteen) years


(“) Post graduate Degree in any of the branches of Medical Science or Diploma in Public and Tropical Medicine..

3. Deputy Librarian:1(One) Post (Unreserved)

Revised Pay: { 79,800/- (Academic Level – 12) and other allowances as admissible.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

(i) Uniform good academic record with a Master’s degree in Library Science with at least 55% rnarks or a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks followed by a bachelor degree in Library Science.

(ii) At least 10(ten) yeats’ experience, O7(seven) years of which are to be in working in a senior position like Assistant Librarian in a Library of repute, preferably in a University or in an Institute of Higher Learning

(iii) Age not below 35 years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidates.

(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicators (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal system (PBAS), set out the in UGC Regulations 2016.


(i) A Doctorate Degree or published research work of meri! knowledge of foreign language.

3. Completed Application in all aspects should be sent to The Registrar, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore 721702, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal latest by 27.05.2U2. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay. Application should be sent in a cover envelop mentioning the name of the post applied for.

4. In case of Substantive posts, the appointment will be made initially for a period of 1(One) year. Based on the performance they may be regularized in the post.

5. The direct recruitrnent Process in the post of Professor and Associate Professor will be made following the state Government Order vide No. 516-Edn(U) /1U-91,/1,0 dated16.0B.201T.
6. Age limit for the post of Associate Professor and Professor as per the latest UGC Guidelines in this regard.

7. The period of time spent by the candidates to acquire M.Phil and Ph.D degree shall not be claimed or considered as teaching/research experience for appointment to the post of Associate Professor / Professor.

8. OBC-A, OBC-B, SC, ST, EC certificate, (as the case may be, if applicable) issued by the competent authority of Govt. of West Bengal only, will be considered.

9. Persons employed in Government / Semi Government Organizations / Autonomous Bodies should submit their application through proper charmel. 10. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBCs/Ex-Serviceman and persons with Disabilities (PWD) is applicable as per Government norms. Age relaxation is also applicable those are working at Vidyasagar University.

11. Candidates should submit their SC/ST/OBCs/ Ex-Serviceman Disability Certificate issued by Competent Authority in the prescribed format along with the application form, in support of their claim.
