University of Calcutta Admission to PhD Programme in the department of Islamic History and Culture.
Applications are invited for Ten (10) PhD vacant seats from eligible candidates willing to pursue PhD Research Work in the Department of Islamic History and Culture, University of Calcutta.

The candidates are requested to download the application forms from the university website and submit the duly filled in application forms on payment of requisite money through challan to the department office in Alipore Campus.
Last date of submission of form is 27 June 2022 upto 4 pm by hand at the office of IHC.
List of candidates eligible for the RET will be published on the University website and Departmental Notice Board on the 30 June 2022.
The syllabus of RET is as follows-
a). Early Islam, (from Pre-prophet age to 680AD)
b). Socio-Culture-economic History of the Delhi Sultanate (1290-1525AD)
c). History of the Mughal India (1525-1707)
d). Indian History (1885-1947)
The PhD Entrance Test (RET) will be held on 7 July 2022 from 1 p m to 2 pm in the Department of IHC. The entrance test will be of 50 marks (25×2 marks) in multiple choice objective questions (Tick Mode). The candidates have to obtain 50%, marks in written test to appear for the viva voce.
The students who have cleared NET/SET/SLET/M.Phil or have passed equivalent examinations will appear for the viva voce examination of 50 marks.
List of qualified eligible candidates for viva will be walled up on 18 July 2022 in University website as well as in Departmental Notice Board.
The viva voce will be held on 25 July 2022 from 12 noon at the Department Seminar Room.
List of candidates selected for the PhD Program will be published on 28 July 2022 in University website
The Reservation Policy of the Government of West Bengal and the Guideline of the University of Calcutta will be followed
