Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University Admission to Ph.D. Programme (1st Part) – 2021
Applications in prescribed format are invited online [ URL: http://phd.skbu.ac.in ] for admission to Ph.D. Programme – 2021 (1st Part i.e. Course Work) in the Department :
- Anthropology & Tribal Studies,
- Sociology and
Admission to the said Ph.D. Programme ( 1st Part i.e. Course Work) will be conducted through 02 (two) phases –
1. Research Eligibility Test (written examination) and
Eligibility for admission:
I. Normally, a candidate seeking admission to the Ph. D. programme will have to appear at the entrance test . The candidate must obtain 55 per cent marks in the Master’s level. Five per cent marks relaxation will be allowed to SC/ ST/OBC-A/ OBC-B/ Differently Able candidates.
II. The candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR – NET (including JRF)/SET/GATE /Teacher Fellowship/INSPIRE ) will not be required to appear at the Ph.D. entrance test.
However, they will have to submit the application form along with the required fees to appear at the Viva-voce directly.
An application fee of Rs. 1000/- for Unreserved & OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST / Differently Able candidates is to be through online.
Reservation: As per WB Govt. Rules.
The syllabus of the Entrance Test consists of 50% in the area of Research Methodology and remaining 50% shall be subject-specific
For subject part of entrance test (RET), the UGC/CSIR NET syllabus will be followed. The qualifying marks for Entrance Test will be 50 per cent.
Other necessary information related to question pattern, list of eligible candidates, schedule & venue of entrance test , mode of entrance test etc. will be uploaded in the official website of University (www.skbu.ac.in ) in due course.
Last date for submission of application: 19.12.2020
Note: (1) Mere passing in the entrance test and successful performance in subsequent viva-voce examination will not confer any guarantee to a candidate for admission to Ph.D. Programme ( 1st Part i.e. Coursework).
Admission of the successful candidates also depends on the availability of seats in the respective Department. Further, mere passing in Ph.D. Course Work will not confer any guarantee to a candidate for granting registration to Ph.D. programme.
(2) Employed persons, if selected for admission, will have to submit NOC from the employer afterwards with the University in the form of hard copy in original, before commencement of Ph.D. Course Work class.
