Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University Admission Guidelines for Acceptable Photograph & Signature for Upload

Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph and signature as per the specifications given below.

  1. Photograph must be a recent passport style colour picture.( 45 millimeters (mm) high x 35 mm wide)
  2. Taken against a light background (preferably light grey or cream background).
  3. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face
  4. Free from shadows
  5. If you have to use flash, ensure there is no “red-eye”
  6. Taken with the eyes open and clearly visible (with no sunglasses or tinted spectacles, and no hair across the eyes)
  7. With a neutral expression with the mouth closed (no grinning, frowning or raised eyebrows)
  8. Of each person on their own (no other objects, or other people visible) taken with nothing covering the face
  9. Photographs must also be a recent true likeness of the individual, taken within the last 6 months
  10. If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen
  11. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear isallowed but it must not cover your face.
  12. Be free from airbrushing or similar enhancement (for example photographs must not be ‘photoshopped’ or ‘touched-up’ or otherwise digitally altered).
  13. Size of file should be between 5 kb – 75 kb

Signature Image

  1. The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
  2. The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
  3. The signature will be used to put on the Hall Ticket and wherever necessary.
  4. If the Applicant’s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Hall Ticket, the applicant will be disqualified.
  5. Size of file should be between 5kb – 75kb

Selection Process for Admission: Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram

1. Merit list will be made strictly on the basis of marks CGPA obtained in Honours/Graduation (in case of PG Diploma/ Certificate Course). In case of equal marks /CGPA obtained in Honours, marks obtained in the immediately preceding examination are to be considered for ranking.

2. As there is no Under- graduate college under our university, 100% seats are open to the students of other universities (except Integrated MLISc.).

3. Quota for SC (22%), ST (6%), OBC-A (10%), OBC-B (7%) and EWS (10%) will be considered as per Govt. Order.

4. 5% of each category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS) will be reserved for Differently Abled Person (DAP). Merit List for DAP will be prepared on the basis of the percentage of disability.

5. If there is no DAP candidate in any category, or the No. of candidate(s) is less than the No. of seats, the No. of vacant seat(s) will be filled up by the candidate(s) of that category.

6. If the No. of UG candidate(s) is less than the No. of seats in Integrated MLISc, the seats will be filled up by the PG candidates and vice-versa. Similarly, if the No. of candidates of PG category reserved for SRCMUJ is less than the No. of seats, the seats will be filled up by the candidates of other universities and vice-versa.

7. The enlisted candidates in Provisional, Merit Lists of M.A. in Music and Performing Arts will have to appear at the Interview / Viva-voce for final selection. The selected candidates will get admitted in M.A. in Music and Performing Arts.

8. Online provisional admission will be done through the university admission portal.

9. The verification of testimonials and other documents for provisionally admitted students will be held on the date to be notified by the university authority on university website. The admission of a student will be cancelled, if he /she remains aboent from classes for consecutive ten days from the date of commencement of classes without any intimation to the university authority.

Hostel Accommodation

Sahid Matangini Girls’ Hostel in the new campus of Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram, Jitusol has been made available to the fifty (50) number of Girl students of the University from the academic session 2022-2023. Pending the construction of the Boys’ Hostel, a temporary Hostel accommodation for approximately fifty-two (52) number of students has been made available at Vivekananda Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya campus at Manikpara. Hostel accommodation has been provided to the selected students on the basis of the distance between their place of residence and Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram, parents’ income and past academic records. Soon after the admission, keeping in view the terms and conditions, bona fide students of the University may submit their applications to the Dean of Students’ Welfare for accommodation in hostels. The prescribed fees are to be deposited in the cash counter or online through payment link by the shortlisted candidates after the announcement of final list of the selected candidates.

Centre for Adivasi Studies and Museum

Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram is established in Jhargram, a socioeconomically backward district of West Bengal. According to the Census of 2011, 96.52% of the population of this district lives in rural areas and the rest of the population are in urban areas. 20.11% of the total population belongs to Scheduled Caste (SC) and 29.3% belongs to Scheduled Tribe (ST). The literacy rate of this district is 70.92%. The academic activities of this university have started from the academic session 2021-22. As the majority of the students are from socio-economically disadvantaged groups mainly from the communities like Santals, Kurmi, Lodha, Sabar, Kherwa, Munda, Ho, etc., there is an utter need to make the students aware of their own cultural heritage and to keep legacy of cultural heritage alive through proper utilization of advanced digital technology.

The Centre plays a key role to motivate the students of all the communities to engage themselves in further research in the concerned fields and to preserve their cultural texts, art and literature. The Centre has to safeguard the endangered folkloric and performative texts of the communities through documentation, preservation and digital archiving. The Centre will regularly organize Workshops / Seminars and Conferences in the concerned fields. More than 600 sq. ft area has been earmarked in the new campus of the university at Jitusole, where the representative cultural artifacts of the tribal communities like musical instruments, bow and arrow, puppets, smoking instruments, attires and ethnic jewellery, playing instruments, etc., will be collected and preserved. This would help the students, the researchers, and the community members for future engagement.

Internal Complaints Committee

Internal Complaints Committee as constituted in the university under the University Grants Commission (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) regulations, 2015 and modified guidelines of the year 2023, shall be held responsible to provide recommendations on the basis of their observations on the offence at work place committed and the university authority accordingly will act decisively against all gender based violence, sexual assault / harassment and humiliation and exploitation perpetrated against employees and students of all sexes, especially women employees and students of the third gender on recommendations of the Internal Complaints Committee. The committee is sensitive to the vulnerable groups (socially Compounded by religion, class, caste, sexual orientation, minority identity and by being differently abled) who are particularly prone to harassment. The committee will

(i) Provide assistance if an employee or a student chooses to file a complaint with the university authority or police;

(ii) Address issues through fair conciliation without undermining complaint’s right;

(iii) Protect the safety of the complaint by not indulging the person’s identity;

(iv) Ensure that victims or witness are not victimized or discriminated while dealing with complaints of sexual harassment.

An aggrieved person is required to submit a written complaint to the ICC within forty-five days from the date of incident. Friends, relatives, colleagues, co-students or any other associate of the victim may file the complaint in situations where the aggrieved person is unable to make the complaint on account of physical mental trauma. The ICC will enquire about the complaint and submit the report with recommendations, if any, to the university authority and the authority will take decisions as per law.

Grievance Redressal Cell

A Grievance Redressal Cell, as constituted in the university to meet the resentment of the employees and the students, shall take necessary steps to address the complaints of the employees and the students. An employee or a student may inform his / her complaint to the concerned authority of the university on any academic or administrative matter by submitting an application in a plain paper. He /she will drop the complaint in the ‘Drop-box’ kept in front of the office of the Registrar. The guardians of the students may also submit their complaints on any academic or administrative matter following the same procedure. This Cell deals with the matter as early as possible and shall take all appropriate measures to resolve it. As per the plan, the Committee will meet once a week and if there is any complaint found in the drop box, the body will inform the concerned authority of the university. The university authority will take action on the recommendation of the Committee. If the Committee is unable to offer suitable unanimous recommendations or the members are not in consensus about the solution, it will be informed to the authority of the university for its solution.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. Applicants are to follow the Notices all the time for up-to-date information.

2. No intimation of any kind will be sent to the individual at any stage.

3. The candidate will get admitted provisionally through university admission portal according to the Merit List and category-wise availability of seats.

4. All the provisionally admitted candidates are required to produce all the original Certificates, Mark sheets and testimonials at the time of verification.

5. Date and time of admission and verification will be notified on the university website.

6. Admission to PG courses will be closed on the 15th day w.e.f. the date of commencement of classes.

7. If any student remains absent from classes for consecutive ten days from the date of commencement of classes without any intimation to the university authority, his/her admission will be treated as cancelled and the vacancy will be filled- in from the merit listed candidates on the basis of merit. Absence will be counted from the date of commencement of classes.

8. The admitted students are to attend at least 75% of the total classes held in all Semesters; otherwise, he/she will not be allowed to fill-in his/her form for End Semester Examination.

9. The admitted students have to submit the Migration Certificate within two months from the date of admission and get registration of SRCMUJ; otherwise, he/she will not be allowed to appear at the End Semester Examination of Semester-I.

10. The student will not indulge in any act of ragging. If he/she is found guilty of any aspect of ragging, he/she will be punished as per the provisions of the UGC Regulations and / or as per law in force.
