GENERAL INFORMATION: Kalyani University PG Admission 2023-24

1. As per West Bengal Govt. Rules, there shall be reservation of 80% seats in each Course for candidates who have Graduation with Honours in the respective subject from Home University (Kalyani University) and 20% seats will be for candidates from other universities.

However, if 80% seats reserved for Home University students remain unfilled, those will be filled up with the candidates of other universities.

Similarly, if the 20% seats reserved for the students from other universities remain unfilled, those will be filled up with the students of Home University.

2. Students of the University of Kalyani mean those candidates who have their qualifying degree (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com. Honours etc.) from the University of Kalyani and have their latest registration under the University of Kalyani and have not been migrated.

3. The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the W.B. Govt. rules.

MERIT LIST PREPARATION CRITERIA

a. Merit List for 80% category (Home University) and 20% category (Other University) will be based on percentage of marks obtained in the Honours subject only.

In case of tie, aggregate marks of best five subjects, obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.

b. For all the Postgraduate programmes one seat is reserved for the candidates applying under “SPORTS QUOTA”, available only for home university students.

Such candidates should apply in a prescribed format. The seat of Sports Quota will be allotted from the available seats of the particular category in which the selected candidate belongs to.

The Entrance Test for various Post-graduate courses in Science, Arts & Commerce, MRDM, M.Ed., M.Tech. in Environmental Management will consist of only a written test.
For M. Tech. in Communication Engineering admission will be through Entrance Test and Interview.
Admission to M.Tech.in Computer Science and Engineering course will be done through written test and interview conducted by the department. Preference will be given to the GATE qualified candidates.
For MCA, students will be admitted through state level examination (JECA) conducted by Joint Entrance Board, West Bengal.
For MBA, admission of candidates will be through CMAT/MAT/CAT/JEMAT Examination followed by Personal Interview and Group Discussion. Candidates appearing interview should bring valid CMAT/MAT/CAT/JEMAT Score Card along with their original credentials.
For admission to the department of Visual Arts, selection will be on the basis of merit of the qualifying exam including performance of the written test and interview test.
Admission to the department of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology is done by an entrance examination conducted by the university.

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to B.Ed. Programme for the session 2023-2024 in the Department of Education, University of Kalyani.

INTAKE: 50 (Fifty)

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates should be Graduate in a school subject from a recognized University.
Candidates with at least 50 % marks either in bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree in School subjects.
Bachelors in Engineering or Technology / B.C.A. /M.C.A. with Science and / or Mathematics as subject with 55 % marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission.
Fresher should have at least 50 % (fifty) marks either in bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree in school subject. For Master’s Degree Programme of two years duration will be considered for scoring.
For candidates, in case of Honours Graduates in school subject, the marks obtained in Honours subject will be considered.
In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects will be considered.
For fresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each pedagogy subject based on scoring.
Age limit for Fresher is 37 years as on 01.07. 2023. There is no age limit for Deputed teachers.

In case of deputed candidates, tenure of service will be consider for preparing merit list.

The B.Ed. programme shall be duration of two academic sessions and having 4 semesters.
95 % of seat intake will be reserved for Fresh Candidates and 05 % for untrained in service / Deputed school teachers of classes V to XII.
The intake ratio for home University and other Universities shall be 80:20.
Out of total seats in the fresh category, 80% are meant for the student of the Kalyani University and 20

% for the students other than Kalyani University students. Students of Kalyani University mean those who possess current Registration Certificate of the Kalyani University and have not migrated from this University.
