Department of Comparative Indian Language and Literature, University of Calcutta, invites applications for the appointment of One full-time Research Assistant and One Field Investigator under the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) sponsored project entitled, “Wording the Silence: Horror of Partition and Liberation War and the Adivasis/Tribals of East and North-East India“.

Dr. Mrinmoy Pramanick, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Comparative Indian Language and Literature, University of Calcutta.
Minimum Eligibility Qualification:
M.A. with minimum 55% marks or an equivalent grade in Comparative Indian Language and Literature or any other relevant discipline with a very good command in knowledge on Partition Studies and Liberation War.
Preference will be given to the candidates having prior experience of archival works and digital skills.
Candidates in service or enrolled in any degree programme at any institution must submit a No Objection Certificate from the concerned authority during the time of personal interview.
Fellowship: INR 16,000/- (Sixteen Thousand Only) Per Month, Consolidated for the post of Research Assistant and 15,000/- (Fifteen Thousand Only) Per Month, Consolidated for the post of Field Investigator.
The tenure of fellowship is initially for Three months; however, it may be extended to another three months and so on based on the availability of funds and/or performance of the research staff.

However, candidates must submit one copy of complete application profile with a covering letter, curriculum vitae and all the relevant marksheets and certificates duly signed by the candidates, and one recent passport size photograph at the reporting time on the day of interview at the office of the Department of Comparative Indian Language and Literature, 1st Floor, Ashutosh Building, University of Calcutta, 87/1 College Street, Kolkata- 700073; failing which the candidature will be summarily rejected.
There are no application fees for applying in the said posts. Date and Time of Personal Interview: Intimation with call for interview after primary screening of application forms will be sent through email. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
