Selection Criteria

The selection of Ph.D. students at the North Bengal University is based on the following criteria:

Entrance Test: The university conducts an Entrance Test for admission to the Ph.D. program. All candidates, except for those who qualify for UGC-NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET, SLET, or GATE, are required to appear for this Entrance Test.

Exemption Criteria: Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET, SLET, or GATE and those who have completed the M.Phil. program may be exempted from the Entrance Test. The university may decide separate terms and conditions for the Ph.D. Entrance Test for such candidates.

The final selection of Ph.D. students will be based on their performance in the Entrance Test (if applicable) and other criteria as per the university’s rules and regulations. It’s important for prospective candidates to fulfill the eligibility requirements and prepare for the Entrance Test (if applicable) to increase their chances of admission to the Ph.D. program at the North Bengal University.
