  • The above vacancies are provisional and subject to variation. Director, JIPMER reserves the right to vary the above vacancies as per requirements of the Institute or otherwise.
  • As per rules, 4% horizontal reservation are allocated for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in the above vacancies. The functional requirements and Benchmark Disability (BD) for each Specialties/Super- Specialties is mentioned in Annexure 3.
  • Upper age limit: Not exceeding 50 years as on the closing date i.e., 14.12.2023
  • Upper age limit is relaxable by five years in case of posts reserved for SC candidates, three years in case of posts reserved for OBC candidates. Further age relaxation is permissible for government servants and PwBD as per guidelines by the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India.

DNB Equivalence: Persons with DNB in a broad specialty as qualifying educational qualification will need to produce documentary evidence issued by competent/appropriate authority about DNB equivalence with MD/MS/DM/MCh as per the National Medical Commission (erstwhile MCI), New Delhi notification dated 31.10.2018.

Those with DNB training from an institution included in Para 2(a) or 2(b) of the aforementioned NMC notification, does not need extra experience after the qualifying degree.

Those who have undergone DNB training at an institution included in Para 2(c) or 2(d) of the aforementioned NMC notification, extra experience in an NMC (erstwhile MCI) recognized/permitted institution as laid down therein is needed for equivalence.

In case of age relaxation for government servants, age relaxation will be admissible only to those employees working under Central Government not under Autonomous Body/State Government/PSU and working in posts which are in the same line or allied cadres and here a relationship could be established that the service already rendered in a particular post will be useful for the efficient discharge of duties of the post(s) to which has been advertised. Decision in this regard will rest with the competent authority, JIPMER.

12. DEFINITION OF CATEGORIES

(i) Unreserved (UR): Unreserved stands for all applicants including OBC/SC/ST/EWSs. (Only such SC/ST/OBC/EWSs candidates who are selected on the same standard as applied to general candidates shall be treated as own merit candidates. If any SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidate is selected by getting any relaxation in age, etc., he/she shall be counted against reserved vacancies. (ii) Other Backward Classes (OBC): Applicants are required to ensure that he/she does not belong to the persons/sections (Creamy Layer) mentioned in Column 3 of the Schedule to the Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training O.M. No. 36012/22/93-Estt. (SCT) dated 08/09/93 which is modified vide OM No. 36033/3/2004 Estt. (iii) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): Applicants are required to produce the necessary certificate as prescribed in M.H.A., O.M., No. 42/21/49-N.G.S. dated the 28.1.1952, as revised in Dept. of Per-& A.R. letter No. 36012/6/76-Est. (S.CT), dated the 29.10.1977, to be produced by candidate belonging to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe in support of his/her claim.

(iv) Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): The minimum degree of disability should be 40% (Benchmark Disability) in order to be eligible for availing reservation for persons with specified disability. The degree of the candidates’ disability will be assessed by the JIPMER medical board, whose decision will be final in this regard.

In case a huge number of applications are received for any discipline, then either a written exam may be conducted for shortlisting the candidates (or) the Standing Selection Committee may shortlist candidates for the interview. The decision of the competent authority at JIPMER will be final.

14. Interviews to the advertised posts will be held in a phased manner. The decision of the competent authority, JIPMER in this regard will be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
