IIT Bhubaneswar Ph.D Admission 2023-24
Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. Programme under the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. fellowship scheme for Electronics and IT, Phase II of the Institute in specific areas of electronics (Electronic System Design and Manufacturing i.e., ESDM) and IT (IT/IT Enabled Services i.e., IT/ITES).
Candidates should carefully read the eligibility criteria before applying for the programme. Since all the applications will be screened/shortlisted based on the data submitted by the candidates in the “online application form”, the candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the programme to which they are applying. If at any stage, if it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong data/information, their candidature/admission will be rejected/cancelled.
Application once submitted successfully cannot be altered/resubmitted under any circumstances. Further, no request with respect to making changes in any data/particulars entered by the candidate in the Online Application will be entertained. Therefore, please keep all data/information ready before you start filling up the Application Online. Please note that a candidate should submit only one application. Duplicate applications will be summarily rejected.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:
(Engineering discipline: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering)
Eligibility Criteria: IIT Bhubaneswar Ph.D Admission 2023-24
- M. Tech./ME or equivalent degree in appropriate disciplines, with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale). The candidate must be GATE qualified in an appropriate discipline.
OR
B Tech/BE or equivalent degree in appropriate disciplines with minimum 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale). The candidate must be GATE qualified in an appropriate discipline. - Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) required in all other examinations from Class 10 onwards. A single relaxation up to 5% marks in secondary/higher secondary/equivalent is permitted.

Filling of Online Application and Payment Procedure

| 2) | Register to the online-portal by providing your current functioning Email ID. |
| 3) | Login to the portal by providing the Email ID and password provided at the time of registration. |
| 4) | Provide correct information in Step 1 to Step 3. |
| 5) | If you are a Female Candidate, no Application Fee is required and hence you can take a print of the application form for future reference. |
| 6) | If you are a Male candidate, Pay the required application Fee at Step 4. |
| 6) | Review your Data at Step 5. |
| 7) | If the information are correct then click on SAVE & SUBMIT Button to submit your application. |
Selection Procedure: IIT Bhubaneswar Ph.D Admission 2023-24
All shortlisted candidates will have to appear for both the written test and the interview. The Ph.D. selection to be based on 40% weightage in a written test and 60% weightage in an interview. The schools can fix cut-offs for written test and/or interview based upon the requirements. The final selection will be based on combined performances in the written test and interview.
Only the candidates enrolled/registered for Ph.D. under this scheme would be eligible to apply for financial support. They must meet the minimum academic qualification as applicable under this category.
