RAC invites online applications from graduate engineers and post graduates in Science including students who are appearing or have appeared in their final year examination through RAC website https://rac.gov.in for recruitment to the posts of Scientist `B’ in Defence Research & Development Organization(DRDO) in Level10 (7th CPC) of the Pay Matrix (Rs.56,100/‐) in specified disciplines and categorie. 

Total emoluments (inclusive of HRA and all other allowances) at the time of joining will be approximately Rs. 1,00,000/‐ p.m. at the present metro city rate.

SELECTION CRITERIA

i)The final selection of the candidates will be purely on the basis of discipline wise category wise merit of aggregate of 80% weightage of marks of GATE score and 20% weightage of marks in Personal Interview. 

ii)The final selection of PwD(HH), PwD(LD), PwD(AAV/Dw) candidates against the vacancies reserved for them in the applicable disciplines will be purely on the basis of combined merit of aggregate of 80% weightage of GATE score and 20% weightage of marks in Personal Interview.

iii)Only those candidates securing minimum qualifying marks of 70% (for UR category) and 60% (for EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwD category) in the Personal Interview will be considered for preparation of final merit list. Candidates who do not qualify the interview will not be considered for final selection irrespective of their GATE score.  

iv)In addition to the above, any other selection tool/test may be administered, at the sole discretion of RAC.

SELECTION PROCESS

 i)The shortlisted candidates on the basis of the GATE scores will be required to appear in the Personal Interview to be held at Delhi or any other place as decided by RAC/ DRDO.  

ii)The offer of appointment to the selected candidates will be restricted to the number of vacancies in order of merit.  The appointment, however, will be subject to satisfying conditions like qualifying the Medical Examination prescribed for Group ‘A’ Technical posts of Govt. of India with Field Service liability and verification of character antecedents besides verification of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD(HH)/PwD(LD)/PwD(AAV)/PwD(Dw) certificate etc, wherever applicable.   

iii)Final result (customised for individual candidate) will be made available at RAC website (https://rac.gov.in).

Be it known to the candidates desirous of recruitment to the post of Scientist ‘B’ in the Defence Research & Development Organisation that the organisation may be notifying vacancies of Scientist ‘B’ for the year 2024 in the next few months, depending upon the requirement.

The direct recruitment to the post of Scientist ‘B’ will be conducted based on a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score and/or written test/interview for vacancies in the disciplines for which GATE is conducted, including those under Life Sciences and under Humanities/Social Sciences.

Only those candidates who will possess valid GATE Score on the crucial date of eligibility will be considered for shortlisting for written test/interview.

The exemption from possessing a valid GATE score granted to candidates from IITs and NITs has been withdrawn. All aspirants wishing to join DRDO must now necessarily possess a valid GATE score for all future vacancies in GATE disciplines.

Last date to apply for the post of Scientist ‘B’ in Advt. no. 145 has been extended to 29 September 2023 (16:00 hours). Candidates may however note that the crucial date for determining the age limit will remain the same as the closing date notified earlier i.e. 31 August 2023.

Corrigendum/ Revised Advertisement Advt. no. 145 for 204 vacancies of Scientist ‘B’ in DRDO, ADA, DST and CME.

Due to additional vacancies in ADA, DST and CME, and revision of age limit to 35 years from the earlier 28 years for the post of Scientist ‘B’ in DRDO, the Corrigendum/ Revised Advt. no. 145 has been published with the revised vacancy position and age limits as given below:
