NOTIFICATION

BSSRV PH.D. ADMISSION TEST (BSSRV-PAT, 2023-24)

Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalya (BSSRV) invites applications from intending candidates to get admission to the Three-Year Full-Time Ph.D. Programme in the following departments for the Academic Session 2023-24.

1. Assamese (2 seats)

2. Computer Science (5 seats)

3. Economics (2 seats)

4. English (6 seats)

5. Sociology (5 seats)

Eligibility Criteria

• A candidate shall have to obtain at least 55% mark or equivalent grade point in the Master Degree. Candidates with UGC-JRF will be exempted from appearing in the Written Examination, however, they will be required to appear in the Personal Interview which will be conducted in offline mode at BSSRV.

• Candidates shall be selected through an entrance examination consisting of two phases.

1. Phase 1: Written Test (Subjective type questions in a single question paper for 50 Marks with the maximum duration of 90 minutes) on the following knowledge areas-

(1) Research Methodology (20 marks)

(ii) Subject Domain (20 marks)

(iii) General Knowledge (10 marks)

2. Phase II: Personal Interview (50 Marks) with the following components-

(1) Presentation on Research Proposal (20 marks)

(ii) Viva-Voce (20 marks)

(iii) Group Discussion (10 marks)

• The list of the provisionally selected candidates shall be prepared by the University. The admission of the selected candidates shall be done as per the information of the subsequent notification. The requisite admission fee and Course fee shall have to be paid within the stipulated date (s).

• The selection of Candidates for admission shall be purely provisional and confirmation of seat is subject to verification of original documents by the Committee/Office.

• Only a limited number of candidates will be called for the Personal Interview.

• Canvassing in any manner, directly or indirectly, on the part of the candidate(s) or relatives of the candidate(s) shall lead to his/her disqualification.

(A) Date of Notification: 28th August 2023.

(B) Activation of Online Application Portal: 1st September 2023.

(C) Last date of submission of Online Application: 10th September 2023 (18th September).

(D) Issue of Admit card: 14th September 2023 (21st September)

(E) Date and Time of Phase I of the Admission Test (Written Examination): 18th September 2023, 10.30 AM to 12.00 Noon, (24th September, 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon).

(F) Date of Personal Interview (Phase II of the Admission Test) will be announced after the declaration of the result of the Written Examination (Phase I).

Guidelines for the submission online Application form

Online Application portal: www.bssrv.ac.in/phd_admission

1. Go to apply online link.

2. Candidates have to upload their signature and photo in jpeg format.

3. Candidates have to deposit Entrance Test fees of Rs 800/- (eight hundred only) at the below given Bank Details and have to upload the Bank Payment receipt (in jpeg Format) and Transaction_Id in the online application form.

4. A valid mobile number and email address.

5. After submitting application candidates are not allowed to edit any details, so before submitting please verify that all the information entered is correct.

6. After Submission of the online form an application number will be generated.

7. Candidates are required to note down the Application No. for further reference

and take print out of the submitted application form. (Note: Candidates are required to show the application form at the time of Counselling)
