Tezpur University is looking for Guest Faculty for the Autumn Semester 2023 as per the following details:

| Physics (01 ) | Physics | Eligibility (A or B): A. i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject (as given in the previous column) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the LJCC, like SLET / SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time, as the case may, are exempted from NET/SET/SLET, Provided, the candidates registeredfor the Ph.D. programme prior to July I l, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinonces/Bys-lqta)tTpegulations of the lnstitution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidotes shall be exempted.from the requirement of NE’\/SLET/SET.for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professr-tr or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/lnstitutions subject to the .fulfilnent of the.follou,ing conditions : a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode,’ b) The Ph.D. thesis hos been evaluated by at least fv,o external examiners: c) An open Ph.D. vivavoce oJ’the candidate has been conducted; d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal; e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CS/R or any similar ogency. The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned. NOTE: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET. Further, SLET/SET shall be valid as he minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to Universities / Colleges / Institutions in the respective state only. OR B. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tons University (Shanehai). |

NOTES:
> The Academic score as speci/ied under UGC Regulations, 2018, in Appendix II (Table 34) for Universities, shall be considered for short-listing oJ-the candidates for inlerview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.
> With regard to the minimum requirement of educational qualification, screening, etc., relevant regulation of UGC / AICTE / NCTE will be applicable. )
> The selected candidates may also be engaged for subsequent semester(s), ifrequired.

Emoluments:
Appointed Guest Faculties will be paid Rs.1,5001 per lecture subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- per month. No other allowances will be admissible.

Interested candidates are to register their names with detailed application as given in Annexure-l along with the filted-in ANNEXURE-II (attached herewith) bv e-mail to the Head of the concerned Deoartment as stated above with the subiect line “APPLICATION FOR GUEST FACULTY aeainst Advt. No. 13 /2023”.
Candidates who do not reeister his / her name bv the aforesaid time & date shall not be interviewed. Eligible candidates so registered shall appear before the concemed Selection Committee through GOOGLE MEET as per the above schedule. The link for the GOOGLE MEET shall be forwarded to the short-listed candidates before the interview.
The selected Guest Faculties would be required to be present in the campus to take the classes physically.
The Academic score as specified under UGC Regulations, 2018, in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, shall be considered for shortJisting of the candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the personal interview. Hence, the applicants must submit the filled in form as given at Annexure-I&Il below.
Ifa large number ofcandidates register for the interview by the last date as stated above, then candidates shortJisted on the basis of academic qualifications and experience (as per Annexure-ll) may be called for the interview through e-mail and a notice for such applicants may also be uploaded in the University website before the scheduled date of interview. In absence of such e-maiVnotice. all candidates who ister their n as stated above for the interview on the scheduled date and time.
