Regulatory Bodies:

i. AICTE: The recruitment to faculty positions of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Energy Management and Business shall be governed as per AICTE 2019 Regulations.

ii. UGC: The recruitment to faculty positions of Languages and Literature (English), Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Philosophy and Culture and Biotechnology shall be governed as per UGC 2018 Regulations.

iii. CoA: The recruitment to faculty positions in Architecture & Landscape Design shall be governed as per CoA 2020 Regulations

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

For the position of Professor

1) School of Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management and Business:-

a. Ph.D. degree in the relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch

AND

b. Minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least 3 years shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor.

AND

c. At least 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in indexed Journals as detailed at point no.3 of the General Terms and Conditions given below, and at least 2 successful Ph.D. guidance as Supervisor / Co-supervisor.

OR

At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in indexed Journals as detailed at point no.3 of the General Terms and Conditions given below till the date of eligibility of promotion.

2) School of Architecture & Landscape Design:

a. Bachelor‘s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B. Arch and Master‘s Degree in Architecture or in allied subjects of Architecture with minimum 60 percent marks at either level, and

Fourteen years’ experience in teaching/ research/ professional work out of which a full-time teaching experience of minimum five years

Or

Nineteen years of professional experience. Desirable: Ph.D. in Architecture.

Valid CoA Registration Number

3) School of Biotechnology, Languages & Literature [English], Philosophy and Culture; and Economics:

Eligibility (A or B):

A.

i. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in indexed Journals as detailed at point no.3 of the General Terms and Conditions given below and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC 2018 Regulations.

ii. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates.

    OR

    B. An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines, from any academic institutions (not included in A above) / industry, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence provided he/she has ten years’ experience.

    For the position of Associate Professor

    1) School of Electrical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer Science and Engineering; Mechanical Engineering and Energy Management:-

    a. Ph.D. degree in the relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch

    AND

    b. At least total 6 research publications in indexed Journals as detailed at point no.3 of the General Terms and Conditions given below.

    AND

    c. Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D. experience.

    2) School of Architecture & Landscape Design:

    a. Bachelor‘s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B. Arch. and Master‘s Degree in Architecture or in allied subjects of Architecture with minimum 60 percent marks at either level, and

    Eight years’ experience in teaching/ research/ professional work out of which a full-time teaching experience of minimum three years

    Or

    Thirteen years of professional experience.

    Valid CoA Registration Number.

    3) School of Biotechnology; Mathematics; Physics ; Languages & Literature [English]; Philosophy; and Economics:

    Eligibility:

    i) A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.

    ii) A Master‘s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed).

    iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in indexed Journals as detailed at point no.3 of the General Terms and Conditions given below and a total research score of Seventy five

    (75) as per the criteria given inAppendix II, Table 2, of UGC 2018 Regulations.

    For the position of Assistant Professor

    1) School    of    Electrical    Engineering;    Civil Engineering; Computer   Science             and Engineering; Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering:-

    i. B. E. / B. Tech. / B. S. and M. E. / M. Tech. / M. S. or Integrated M. Tech. in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

    ii. Desirable: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.

    Note:

    1. Candidates who have done Ph.D. after the Bachelor’s Degree from institution of National importance with GATE/ GPAT/ CEED shall be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.
    2. The candidates with Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering along with MCA are also eligible to teach B.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering) programme along with existing qualifications as prescribed by AICTE for Assistant Professor in Engineering and Technology.
    1. School of Architecture and Landscape Design:-
      1. Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B. Arch. with minimum 60 percent marks and three years of relevant professional experience.

    OR

    Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B. Arch. and Master‘s Degree in Architecture or in allied subjects of Architecture with minimum 60 per cent. marks at either level and one year of relevant professional experience.

    Valid CoA Registration Number.

    2) School of Physics; Mathematics; Languages & Literature [English]; Philosophy; and Economics:- Eligibility (A or B):

    A.

    • A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
    • Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations,2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/ SLET/SET :

    Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :-

    1. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
    2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
    3. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which atleast one is in a refereed journal;
    4. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/ seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency.

    The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs)of the University concerned.

    Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC,like SLET/SET.

    OR

    B.

    The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

    General Terms And Conditions: SMVDU Recruitment 2023

    1. The shortlisting /selection shall be done strictly in accordance with the Orders dated: 03.11.2017 of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, in the case of Orissa Lift Irrigation Corp. Ltd. Vs Rabi Sankar Patro & Ors. and the subsequent Public Notices issued vide no. F.No.4-4/2017 (DEB-I) dated: 22nd November 2017, by the UGC, and Public Notice vide no. Advt. No. P&AP/11(03)2017, dated: 2nd December 2017 issued by AICTE in this regard.
    2. Shortlisting for Faculty Positions in Engineering Schools shall be done in accordance with AICTE notification issued vide no. F.No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/2017 – 18, dated: 28th April 2017 w.r.t Major / Core Branch of Engineering / Technology and their relevant / appropriate courses leading to degree in Engineering / Technology for recruitment to teaching positions, and as per Clause 7.5 of the AICTE Gazette Notification vide no. F.No. 61-1/RIFD/7th CPC/2016-17, dated: 01st March 2019 for incumbents.
    3. Only publications published in indexed Journals in Web of Science as per Thomson Reuters list i.e., Science Citation Index®, Science Citation index ExpandedTM, Social Sciences Citation Index®, Arts & Humanities Citation Index®, SCOPUS, Journals indexed in PUBMED which covers quality journals in the field of Biotechnology and Medicine and ABDC (Category A&B), shall be considered, as approved by the statutory bodies of the University.
    4. Candidates (Citizen of India) desirous of applying for the aforesaid posts are requested to visit University website i.e. www.smvdu.ac.in for the complete details of the advertisement viz. qualifications/eligibility and other terms and conditions and filling/submission of application form. Candidates willing to apply for more than one discipline should submit separate application form along with requisite fee.
    5. The University shall conduct a written test for the post of Assistant Professor to shortlist the candidates. Only those candidates who will obtain more than the minimum cut off marks (in the written test), shall be considered for further assessment of their credentials. The details about exemption in written test are enclosed at Annexure A.
    6. The maximum age till which a candidate can apply for the faculty positions at all levels, is 05 years to superannuate or 60 years, whichever is less.
    7. Candidates who are applying for Faculty positions of Professor/ Associate Professor, must provide following information along with relevant documentary evidence: –

    a. Each research score must be supported by the documentary evidence, without which no claim on account of research Score will be entertained. It is mandatory that the candidate marks page nos. on all the supporting documents and that page nos. be quoted against the claimed score. The details with regard to ISSN/ISBN, sole author/Co-authors/Joint publication, indexed Journals listed at s. no. 3 must also be reflected supported by documentary evidence.

    b. Date of admission in Ph.D. Degree and date of award of Ph.D. Degree. Please mention whether course work has been completed as part of Ph.D. Degree or not.

    c. Attach Five copies of latest Bio-data along with downloaded application form.

    d. Details of publications chronologically giving details of: Names of authors, title of the Research Paper, name of the Journal/Books/Conference, Volume No./ proceedings, pages, year of publication, ISSN/ISBN, sole-author/co- authors/joint publication, refereed/non-refereed, indexed/non-indexed and local/National/International status etc. in Journals and Conferences separately. These details shall be enclosed with documentary evidence to be used to verify the research score claim. Such documents shall be required to be produced at the time of interview.

    e. Details of Awards, patents, prizes etc. nature and name of Prize/Award, Name of the patent, year and details about the patent etc.Details of Research guidance (Ph.D./ M.S./ M.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Phil.): Research degree name of the scholar, title of thesis, year of award, co-guide, if any, etc.

    f. Details of research/consultancy projects carried out: Title of the project, duration, sponsor, value, co- investigators, if any, etc.

    h. Other activities: Text books and Monographs written with publication details, Continuing Education Programmes / Conferences organized.

    i. A brief write up on the research area of the applicant and their future plan for the next 5 years.

    j. Any other relevant but brief information on your academic standing.

    k. Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. from foreign Universities   should   enclose “Equivalence Certificates”, issued by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, without which their candidature will not be considered and application will be rejected.

    1. The medium of instruction in the University is English.
    2. The eligibility of the applicants shall be considered as on the closing date of advertisement notice.
    3. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post or advertisement notification at any time without assigning any reason thereof. The right is also reserved with the University either to fill or not to fill any post and its decision in this regard shall be final and binding on the applicants. The University may also increase or decrease number of advertised posts without prior notice.
    4. The University reserves its right to place reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for interview as per the applicable criteria. Fulfillment of essential qualifications per se does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.
    5. The applicants serving in Government / Semi Government organization /Public Sector Undertaking / Autonomous Bodies/ Universities / Educational / Research Institutions must send their applications “Through Proper Channel”. The applications not received through proper channel will not be considered. However, an advance copy of application may be sent followed by the original through proper channel.
    6. The age of superannuation for all the teaching posts is 65 years.
    7. Candidates shall have to produce original documents for verification purposes at the time of appearing in interview.
    8. Before applying for a post, candidates are advised to satisfy themselves about their eligibility.
    9. The University shall verify the antecedents / documents submitted by the candidates at the time of appointment or any time during the tenure of the service. In case, it is found that the documents submitted are fake or the candidate has a clandestine/background and has suppressed the said information, his / her services shall be terminated forthwith.
    10. The University may draw reserve panel (s) against possible vacancies in future and validity shall be as per rules of the University or as may be decided by the Appointing Authority.
    11. Incomplete application / applications received without applicable fee and those received after due date, shall be liable to be summarily rejected without any notice.
    12. SMVDU reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason thereof. No interim queries in this regard shall be entertained at any stage.
    13. In case of any disputes or legal proceedings against the University, the jurisdiction shall be confined to the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh only.
    14. The University shall not be responsible for any postal delays/loss.
    15. Application once submitted cannot be altered/re-submitted, under any circumstances. Further, no request with respect to making changes in any data/particular entered by the candidate in the online application form will be entertained once the application is submitted successfully. Therefore, candidates are advised to keep all data/details/documents ready before they start filling up the Application online.
    16. The candidates applying against reserved post shall provide documentary evidence issued by the appropriate Competent Authority.
    17. The benefit of reservation to the sub-categories of the categories as reflected in this Advertisement above, shall be applicable in respect of the castes/areas as mentioned in Circular under reference bearing No. 04 dated 24.02.2023 issued by Higher Education Department, UT of J&K, or as amended from time to time till the last date of receipt of online application. The reserved category certificate must have been issued by any of the Competent Authorities as mentioned herein below point 25.

    1. The number of vacancies indicated in Advertisement notice is tentative. The University reserves the right to increase, decrease or withdraw the number of posts or advertisement at any stage of recruitment in part or full or not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised, if circumstances so warrant, without assigning any reason thereof.
    2. On-line application not accompanied by necessary supporting verifiable documents, attested copies of degree certificates/mark-sheet/experience certificates/category certificate (if applicable), publications, teaching/research experience issued by the competent authority will be treated as incomplete and shall be rejected summarily. No column of the form for which candidates is making claim to the position should be left blank.
    3. All supporting documents are required to be uploaded after self-attestation and hence, candidates are advised to prepare the PDF files of each of the required documents before starting the online application process. Publications need not to be self-attested.
    4. Only shortlisted candidates, who have been called for interview, will be reimbursed subject to a maximum of “to and fro” 2nd AC [for the post of Professor / Associate Professor] or 3rd AC [for the post of Assistant Professor] train fare, as the case maybe, by the shortest route from their place of work/residence (city), whichever is nearer.
    5. SMVDU shall not be responsible for invalid/wrong email ID or mobile no. mentioned by the candidates.
    6. Application fee is Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only). However, fee is exempted for candidates belonging to SC and ST category.
    7. Canvassing in any form may lead to cancellation of candidature.
    8.
