RMLAU PhD Admission 2024. Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya invites online applications for admission to Ph.D. program in various disciplines, running in the departments of residential campus and affiliated colleges through a Common Entrance Test-2023 (CET2023) as per the Ph.D. Ordinance-2022 of the university/UGC guidelines amended from time to time.

The university offers Ph.D. program in two categories viz; (A) FullTime Mode (B) Part-Time Mode.

The online application form, instruction details and seat availability in different subjects are available on www.rmlau.ac.in from February 15, 2024.

Ph.D. Admission Bulletin (Academic Session 2023-24) Important Instructions for Online Application for CET-2023

  1. Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya hereby commences the process of admission to Ph.D. program in Full-Time and Part-Time mode in various disciplines running in the departments of Residential Campus and Affiliated Colleges as per Ph.D. Ordinance-2022 and as amended from time to time.
  • All the interested candidates willing to take admission in the relevant Ph.D. program either through Full Time or Part Time Mode are advised to apply online. The online application form and required details are available on university website http://phdadmission.rmlauentrance.in
  • A candidate is allowed to apply and submit only one application form for the Ph.D. program in whatever mode he/she wishes to pursue.
  • The admission process in Full Time and Part Time mode for Ph.D. programme of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya shall be through Common Entrance Test, C.E.T-2023 which will be held in two phases: –

Phase A– Written test                       Phase B– Interview / Viva-Voce

  • Admission to the Ph.D. Programme shall be made using the following methods:
  • Students with valid fellowship/Scholarship (Junior Research Fellowship) in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests shall be exempted from the entrance test and admitted directly on the basis of interview/ viva-voce.
  • Regular and working teachers employed in Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University campus and Government/Aided Colleges affiliated to this university shall be exempted from the written test and admitted directly on the basis of interview/ viva-voce.

Such candidates as referred in 5(a) and 5(b) will be given preference/weightage as per criteria mentioned in Annexure-A of Ph.D. Ordinance-2022.

  • All those applicants who do not fall in the above-mentioned criteria will have to appear in the written test conducted by the University. Candidates having eligibility only for lecturership by qualifying UGC- NET/UGC-CSIR NET and similar National level tests as mentioned in clause 5. (a) or working in any project/ schemes as a JRF/SRF must appear in the entrance examination (CET-2023).
  • Candidates who qualify the written test will have to appear in interview/ viva-voce.
  • The final selection of the candidate for Ph.D. shall be based on the 70% weightage to written test and 30% weightage to his/her performance in the interview/ viva-voce.
  • Candidates who are exempted from the written test by having valid fellowship/scholarship or being regular and working teachers employed in Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya Campus / Government/ Aided colleges affiliated to this university will be selected only on the basis of interview/ viva- voce as mentioned in Annexure A and such teachers are also entitled to avail the benefits of the provisions laid down in the state government orders- (i) 69/स र-1-2022 िदनांक 06/01/2022 and (ii) 70/स र-1-2022

िदनांक 06/01/2022. Such teachers shall provide their appointment letter endorsed by the Principal / Registrar of the institution at the time of interview/ viva-voce.

  1. For such candidates the 30% preference/ weightage allocated for Interview/ Viva-voce shall be scaled up to 100%.
  2. The entrance test syllabus shall consist of 50% questions of Research Methodology and 50% questions related to the subject.
  3. Students who have secured 50% marks in the entrance test are eligible to be called for the interview. A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance examination for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled category, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
  4. The candidate(s) qualifying the common entrance test will have to appear in an interview/ viva-voce as decided by the admission committee. The interview/ viva-voce panel will comprise of Convener, a member from the admission committee, external/internal expert (s) of the subject as decided by the admission committee and approved by the Vice-chancellor. The interview board will award marks as suggested in Annexure A. Any modification / alteration/ amendment of the interview/ viva-voce panel shall be at the sole discretion of the vice- chancellor.
  5. The final merit for admission to Ph.D. Programme shall take into account the score of written tests (in cases where applicable) and interview/ viva-voce. The university shall adhere to the National/State-level reservation policy, as applicable.
  6. The university shall decide the total number of eligible students to be called for an interview based on the number of Ph.D. seats available in the subject concerned.

16. Conditions for Admission in Part Time Ph.D. Programme

  1. Ph.D. Programmes through part-time mode will be permitted, provided all the conditions stipulated in UGC including the entrance and completion of regular course work (Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of Ph.D. Degrees.), 2022 and existing in the Ph.D. Ordinance-2022 of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya are fulfilled.

ii. A teacher serving in this university / affiliated colleges will be eligible to enroll for Ph.D. Programme under Part Time mode after completion of probationary period or has completed at least one year of service. Other than the teacher of university and affiliated colleges, the candidate is required to have at least three years of continuous service experience in recognized educational institutions, Union Government: State Government(s), Armed Forces; PSUs or corporations listed in BSE or NSE.

  1. The candidate shall have to provide “No Objection Certificate” from the appropriate authority in the organization where the candidate is employed, clearly stating that: (i) The candidate is permitted to pursue studies on a part-time basis. (ii) His/her official duties permit him/her to devote sufficient time for research. (iii) If required, he/she will be relieved from the duty to complete the course work.
  2. The final selection of the candidates for the Part Time Ph.D. Programme shall be based on same criteria as mentioned for Full Time Mode.

18. Syllabus: RMLAU PhD Admission 2024

Syllabus of CET-2023 will be like what is prescribed for respective PG subjects of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya and its affiliated colleges. A copy of respective syllabus can be obtained from university website www.rmlau.ac.in .

19. Eligibility: RMLAU PhD Admission 2024

  1. A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree Programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree Programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree Programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree Programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
  2. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time. Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree Programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
  3. Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. Programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. Programme. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
  4. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to go through the admission guidelines and Ph.D. Ordinance-2022 of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya and check his / her eligibility at the time of application. The university will not be verifying the eligibility at the time of submission of online application by the applicant. All candidates who have applied will be allowed to appear in the entrance test. The eligibility will be verified by the university at the time of interview.
  • On-line Application Procedure: Candidate may fill online application form for Ph.D. admission process / CET-2021 of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya through the university website (http://phdadmission.rmlauentrance.in). During online application form filling process, the candidate has to upload scanned copies of passport size photograph and signature in JPEG format (50 KB).

20.1 Requirements for online form submission:

  • Valid email id
  • Aadhar number
  • Active Mobile Number
    • Mobile number should be with the applicant at the time of form filling
    • All relevant information regarding admission would be send to this mobile number /email ID
  • Scanned photograph in JPEG format (Max. upload size is 50 KB only)
  • Scanned signature in JPEG format (Max. upload size is 50 KB only)
  • Photo ID proof- Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport

20.2 EWS Certificate

Applicants who want to avail the benefit of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) seats have to provide the latest certificate of the current year.

20.3 Caste Certificate

Applicants who wish to avail the benefit of OBC (non-creamy layer) must provide the latest certificate (not issued before three years).

The Schedule Caste (SC) / Schedule Tribe (ST)/ OBC / EWS originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh will be given

the benefit of reservation. The Schedule caste (SC) / Schedule tribe (ST)/ OBC / EWS belonging to states other than Uttar Pradesh will be treated in general category.

The fee deposition is digital/ online and Bank transaction charges will be applicable as permissible by the bank.

  • Registration fee for Online Application to Ph.D. admission process/CET-2023 of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University can be submitted online through Net-Banking/UPI or Debit/Credit-Card of any nationalized bank. Applicants are advised to note down bank transaction Reference Number and Registration ID for any future communication with the University. After the fee submission, applicants will be redirected to the University website where option for printing admission form and fee receipt are given. Printout of the pay-in-slip ofthe transacted fee along with that of the filled application form must be retained by the applicant.
  • University reserves the right to vary the availability of seats in various disciplines depending upon the availability of the supervisors.
  • The candidate is solely responsible for all the entries made by him/her in the online application form for CET-2023. If the candidate conceals or misrepresents any fact in the entries on the form, his/her candidature will automatically stand cancelled and he/she will be liable to be debarred from the present and future admissions in the University.
  • Entries made by the candidate in the Form will be considered final, and no subsequent request for change(s) or modification(s) in the same will be entertained.

Guidelines for Entrance Test: RMLAU PhD Admission 2024

  1. The CET-2023 for various Ph.D. programme of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University as specified in Table-A, will be conducted at the University Campus but in special circumstances Centers may also be allocated at different institutions in Ayodhya district.
  2. Candidates are advised to fill up the Answer-OMR sheet carefully during Examination.
  3. The Entrance Test will be based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) containing one question paper.
  4. The question paper set will comprise of two sections with a total of 70 Questions. One section of 35 questions will assess the subject knowledge and the other section of 35 questions will be related to Research Methodology. The paper will be of 2 hours duration.
  5. There will not be any negative marking.
  6. The minimum qualifying marks for the test will be 50% marks.
  7. A relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks (in the aggregate) will be provided to thecandidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ Differently-abled categories/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
  8. The average percentage of marks will not be rounded off to the next higher integer.
  9. Only Black Ball Point Pen should be used for blackening the circles on the answer sheet.
  10. Correction fluid should not be used.
  11. Candidates are not permitted to carry paper, mobile phone or any other type of gadgets for communication in the examination Hall/Room.
  12. Nothing should be written on the Question Booklet except Roll Number.
  13. The candidates should ensure that the answer sheet is not folded or damaged and thereshould not be any stray marks on the answer sheet.
  14. The candidate must bring his/her admit card to appear in CET-2023. If a candidate fails to bring the admit card, he/she will not be allowed to appear in the CET-2023.
  • Subjects for Ph.D. Entrance Test C.E.T.-2023. Examination will be conducted in the subjects as mentioned in Table-A. Candidate has to clearly mention in online application that whether he/she is applying for Residential Campus Subjects (Regular / Self Finance Mode) or for the subjects available in affiliated colleges. The candidate must clearly indicate the nature of the Ph.D. program i.e., if its Full Time or in Part Time Mode.

  • Reservation Policy– The available positions will be divided as per Reservation Policy of the State Government of Uttar Pradesh. Numbers of seats for Ph.D. programs in various subjects are tentative. Subject wise number of seats may vary at the time of counselling, subjected to the availability of Supervisors in respective subjects.
  • Subject wise Seat Availability- The vacant seats available in different subjects of the Ph.D. program is enclosed as Annexure- B. The number of seats may increase or decrease depending upon the availability of the registered supervisors in different subjects.

Fee Structure: RMLAU PhD Admission 2024

Ph.D. students enrolled in Regular Programs (Full Time) the fee structure will be as per the existing norms and revised from time to time.
