  • A good academic record, with a Ph.D degree in the concerned/allied/ relevant disciplines.
  • A Master’s Degree with atleast 55% marks(or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed).
  • A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/ research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institutions/ industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR A.: GJUST Recruitment 2023: Teaching Posts

A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master’s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Backward Classes ‘A’ & ‘B’ (Non-creamy Layer) of Haryana/Differently-abled ((a) Blindness and low vision; (b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing; (c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy; (d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; (e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness) for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in Universities subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

  1. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
  2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
  3. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
  4. The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
  5. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/sported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.

  • A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
  • A relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university, at the Master’s level shall also be considered valid.

B. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

    1. A basic degree in pharmacy(B.Pharma.).
    1. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
    1. A Ph.D. degree with First class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy, and experience of eight years in teaching, research, industry and/or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade; excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree.

OR

  1. In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
    1. First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy;
    1. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy and industrial/ professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of Lecturer,

Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice- Chancellor of the University.

  1. A minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.

  • The qualification of Ph.D. acquired for the various level of posts directly after B.E./B.Tech. is applicable in Technical Institutions, provided degree of Ph.D. awarded is in relevant discipline by a recognised University following the process of registration, course work and evaluation etc. as prescribed by UGC or has been awarded by the Institutes of national importance (i.e. IITs/ IISc/ NITs etc.), duly recognised by the MHRD. Important Instructions

  1. The online application form is available on the University website. The fee of Rs.1,000/- for un- reserved category candidates, Rs.500/- for female candidates of un-reserved category, Rs.250/- for SC/ BCA/BCB/ EWS/ ESM and no fee for PwD category candidates is applicable. The fee will be deposited through Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card. The Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card transaction charges will be extra as applicable. The concession in application fee is applicable to the candidates from Haryana State only.
  2. The AICTE’s/ UGC’s/ PCI/ State Govt. qualifications will be applicable for the posts of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. The detail of posts is available at page No.2&3 and qualifications are available at page No.4 to 11.
  3. The written test will be conducted where the number of applications received for the posts of Assistant Professor is more than 15 for one post, more than 20 against two posts and so on. The eligibility of candidates will be got checked after conduct of written test, wherever applicable. Accordingly, first 15 eligible candidates will be called for interview on the basis of written test in each category. Their sequence will be prepared on the basis of criteria available at page No.10 & 11. Wherever the number of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor are less than 15, no written test will be conducted and all eligible candidates will be called for interview. Their sequence will be prepared on the basis of criteria available at page No.10 & 11. The selections shall be based only on the performance in interview.
  4. The PwD Candidates, who are blind/ low vision or affected by cerebral palsy with locomotor impairment and whose writing speed is affected, can use the scribe provided by the University during the Computer Based Test (CBT)/ written test. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:

(i) Ensure that you are eligible to use a scribe as per the Government of India rules governing the recruitment of Physically Challenged persons,

(ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated eligibility criteria,

(iii) Such candidate who is eligible to use scribe and uses a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour to the examination,

(iv) Visually Handicapped candidates under Blind/ Low Vision who use Scribe may skip the questions based on Graph and Table in Quantitative Aptitude Test. The candidates will be awarded marks for these questions based on the overall average obtained on other question of this test,

(v) The candidates desirous of scribe shall inform the University in advance for the same.

  1. Benefit of reservation in posts is applicable to the candidates from Haryana State only as per latest guidelines of the State Govt.
  2. The online application forms are available on the University website w.e.f. 31.10.2023.
  3. Last date for payment of fee through Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card is 18.11.2023 upto 05:00 p.m. and the candidate may fill their application form online upto 12:00 (midnight) on 18.11.2023. The application form once submitted/ locked will not be edited.
  4. Fee once deposited is neither transferable, nor refundable/ adjustable.
  5. A copy of the print out of the Application Form alongwith self-attested legible/ visible/ readable photocopies of the certificate of age proof/ detailed marks certificates(DMCs) (semester/year- wise)/certificate of Ph.D. Course Work/ M.Phil./ degrees/ experience certificates, etc. as claimed by the candidate should reach to the office of Assistant Registrar (Faculty), Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar – 125001, Haryana latest by 21.11.2023.
  6. The candidate must be eligible on the last date i.e. 18.11.2023 for submission of online application form as per the prescribed qualifications. The eligibility of every candidate will be determined on the basis of qualifications acquired and communicated to the office by him/ her upto the last date fixed for submitting of online applications. No certificate/ document acquired after the last date will be accepted.
  7. The applicant has to submit the hard copies/ reprints of research publications alongwith the page(s), ISBN/ ISSN and content page(s) of each book/journal {(Pear-Reviewed or UGC-listed Journals(Impact factor to be determined as per Thomson Reuters list)}/ Proceeding in which the publication(s) under reference is/ are published must be numbered in sequence and be filled against their entries in the application form
  8. Incomplete applications and those not on prescribed form or without fee and supporting documents will be summarily rejected and not accepted in any case.
  9. Those who are in service must send their application through proper channel.
  10. The University reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts or it may not fill any of the posts advertised without assigning any reason.
  11. Preference will be given to Ph.D. holders, who have obtained their degree from “A” Grade or higher grade NAAC Accredited University/ Institution.
  12. No rounding off shall be carried out to compute the merit points. The number should be accurate upto two decimal places.
  13. The time taken by candidates to acquire Ph.D. degree shall not be considered as teaching/ research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions. Further, the period of active service spent on pursuing Research Degree simultaneously with teaching assignment without taking any kind of leave, shall be counted as teaching experience for the purpose of direct recruitment. The candidates are required to submit the proof of date of registration and award/notification of Ph.D. degree/ provisional Ph.D. degree. A certificate is also required from the candidate that he/ she has pursued research degree with teaching assignment without taking any kind of leave.
  14. The applicants who have registered for Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009 and have been awarded the degree, are required to produce a certificate for the fulfilment of the conditions to be issued by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned University as per Annexure-I.
  15. The applicants who have registered for Ph.D. programme on or after July 11, 2009 are required to produce a certificate for the fulfilment of the provisions of the UGC (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. degree) Regulations, 2009 to be issued by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned University as per Annexure-II.
  16. The degrees obtained by the candidates through Distance Education Mode/ Correspondence Mode must be approved by AICTE-UGC-DEC (now DEB) and proof of the same be enclosed.
  17. Candidates, who have obtained degrees or certificates required for fulfilling the eligibility conditions from any institution declared fake by the University Grants Commission or not recognised by Haryana Govt./ Govt. regulatory bodies shall not be eligible for recruitment to the said posts advertised and no representation in this regard shall be entertained.
  18. Candidates should not furnish any particulars that are fake, tempered/ fabricated and should not suppress any material information while filling up the online application form.
  19. Before submission of online application form, the candidate must have scanned his/ her latest photograph and signature in JPEG/JPG format only, for uploading as a part of submission of online application. The image of latest photograph must be with dimension of maximum size (width 132px, height 170px) or minimum size (width 102px, height 140px).
  20. Signature must be done by the candidate himself/ herself on a white paper with a black pen for taking image. The size of image should be maximum size (width 210px, height 80px) minimum size (width 210px, height 40px).
  21. Any changes/ corrigendum/ amendments/ updation/ cancellation notice and any modification in the guidelines received from the Directorate of Technical Education, Haryana related to the recruitment process shall be published on official website of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar i.e. www.gjust.ac.in only and not in the newspapers.   Therefore, the candidates are advised to visit regularly the official website of this University and also be very careful about fake website and job racketeers.
  22. Information uploaded on the University Website shall not be provided to the candidate under RTI Act, 2005. The uploaded information on the University Website shall remain for a specific period only. Therefore, the candidates are advised to download the information and keep them for future reference. During the recruitment process, neither any application under RTI Act, 2005 shall be entertained nor information shall be provided. Factual information under RTI Act shall be provided only after declaration of final result and completion of the entire recruitment process of this notification subject to condition. Reply shall not be provided for any inferential or speculative question.
  23. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications laid down for each post, in this advertisement.
  24. While filling the academic details, if marks are given in form of the CGPA then a conversion formula to convert CGPA into percentage should be essentially provided by the candidate from the competent authority awarding CGPA i.e. a documentary proof should be provided. In case marks are given in form of the CGPA alongwith conversion formula as well as absolute marks then to compute the percentage CGPA will be used. In case marks are given in the form of CGPA, but conversion formula is not provided by the candidate then CGPA shall be multiplied by default value 9 on a scale of 10 to obtain the percentage marks.
  25. The proof of peer reviewed journal status, impact factor, authorship claim, etc. should be provided with a valid document, failing which points will not be allotted as per the claim. University will not be responsible for any mistake in score due to not providing valid proof.
  26. The University reserves the right of deciding the disciplines as concerned/ allied/ relevant while scrutinising the applications.
  27. Reserved category candidates shall be considered against general category strictly as per Govt. letter No.12/1-2017 Ad (3) dated 04.06.2018&No.EC/2018/201790\-389 dated 26.04.2018 (Annexure-III & IV).
  28. Mere submission of online application/ permission does not mean that the candidate is eligible for appointment to the post applied for. The eligibility shall be verified at the time of verification of original documents as per the qualifications and terms and conditions of advertisement. If at any stage, it is found that the information furnished by the candidate is fake or incorrect, the candidature will be cancelled and the candidate will also be liable to legal proceedings. Even if a candidate is selected and it is noticed at a later stage that he/ she has claimed eligibility on the basis of any false/ fake degree/ document, his/ her selection will be cancelled ab initio and will also be liable to legal proceedings.
  29. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/ withdraw or cancel any communication made to the candidates. In case of dispute arising out of such a situation, the decision of the University shall be final and binding on the applicant.
  30. After registration, an automatic generated User ID will be shown on the website; you are advised to keep User ID/ Reference No. and password secretly for your own use only and not to be disclosed this to any other person(s). In the event of sharing of password, candidate shall be solely responsible for the change of registration/ application details etc. In the event of forgetting of password, the same can be retrieved by the candidate on replying the queries by the system on the link Forgot Password available on the GJUS&T website.
  31. Applicant must give his/ her a valid contact number (Mobile) & an e-mail ID and also advised not to change his/ her contact number (Mobile) and e-mail ID mentioned at the time of registration, so that correspondence during the recruitment process will be made through his/ her mobile number/ e-mail ID. Further, the applicant is advised not to give the contact number (Mobile)/ e-mail ID of an unknown person/ stranger to avoid any future complications. The GJUS&T, Hisar shall not be responsible in any manner for the non-delivery of correspondence. It shall be the responsibility of the applicant to update himself/ herself by visiting the official website of GJUS&T, Hisar i.e. www.gjust.ac.in or by checking his/ her e-mail ID regularly for important notification(s)/ information.
  32. There will be no age bar for these posts. The age of superannuation for the above posts will be sixty years.
  33. A seminar may also be conducted before interview if the University feels it necessary in any case.
  34. All disputes pertaining to the recruitment of these posts shall fall within the jurisdiction of Hisar Court only.
