ADMISSION NOTICE FOR PH.D. PROGRAMMES SESSION 2023-2024

The intending candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Programmes of Dibrugarh University for the academic session 2023-2024 are hereby informed to apply online and submit the hardcopies to the Department/ Centre/ Institute concerned as per the provisions below-

A. The DURAT 2023 appeared Candidates:

The following candidates that have appeared in DURAT 2023 are eligible to apply for admission to the Ph.D. Programme:

The Qualifying Marks in DURAT 2023 (Phase-I: Written Test) is 50%. However, candidates belonging to the reserved categories of SC/ST/OBC/Persons with disability (PWD) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) shall have 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks in DURAT 2023.

The applicants shall have to login to the Admission Portal given on the website https://dibru.ac.in using the same Mobile Number and Password provided during online application for DURAT 2023 and click on the Apply button corresponding to “Ph. D. Admission”. After filling-up the online form, they need to click the “Submit” button and make a payment of Rs 750/- through online mode. Once the Application Fee is successfully paid, they will be able to download the submitted Application Form and take a Printout.

The applicants need to submit the Print-Copy of the application form along with the following self- attested documents at the Office of the Department/ Centre of Studies concerned where they wish to apply for the Ph.D. Programme –

a) Copies of the Pass Certificates and Mark Sheets from HSLC to Master’s Degree.

b) Copy of the DURAT 2023 Score card.

c) Caste Certificate [in case the Candidate belongs to SC/ST/ and OBC/MOBC (Non-Creamy layer)] or Certificates related to PWD and EWS.

d) No Objection Certificate (in case the Candidate is employed).

The concerned Department/Centre of Studies shall publish the lists of Short-Listed Candidates prepared on the basis of the performance of the DURAT, 2023 and these candidates shall be eligible to appear in Viva-Voce to be conducted by the Department/ Centres of Studies concerned.

The DURAT Exempted Candidates: DURAT is exempted for the candidates who have qualified the CSIR/UGC NET-JRF and/or having research fellowship from National level Government/Semi Government funding agencies M.Phil. programme (in regular mode and in the concerned subject).

Exempted Candidates shall have to register and login to the Admission Portal given on theand/or have passed https://dibru.ac.in and click on the Apply button corresponding to “Ph. D. Admission”.

After filling-up the online form, they need to click the “Submit” button and make a payment of Rs 750/- through online mode. Once the Application Fee is successfully paid, they will be able to download the submitted Application Form and take a Printout.

a) Copy of the Award Letter (in case of CSIR/UGC NET-JRF qualified candidates and/or candidates having research fellowship from National level Government/Semi Government funding agencies).

b) M.Phil. Pass Certificate and Marksheet (in case of M.Phil. qualified candidates).

c) Copies of the Pass Certificate and Mark Sheets from HSLC to Master’s Degree.

d) Caste Certificate [in case the Candidate belongs to SC/ST and OBC/MOBC (Non-Creamy layer)] or Certificates related to PWD and EWS.

e) No Objection Certificate (in case the Candidate is employed).

Important Information: Dibrugarh University Ph.D Admission 2023-24

Online Application portal shall open on	17/10/2023
Last date of online Application	31/10/2023 (till 11:59 pm)
Last date of receipt of hard copies of the documents at the concerned Departments/Centres of Studies	06/11/2023 (till 5:00 pm)

Eligibility for Admission: Dibrugarh University Ph.D Admission 2023-24

The intending candidates should ensure that their candidature is complied with the eligibility criteria for admission prescribed in Clause 12 (A) and 12 (B) of the Dibrugarh University Regulations for the Research Council and for the Degree of Ph.D., 2023.

Reservation Policy: Dibrugarh University Ph.D Admission 2023-24

Statutory Reservation Policy shall be followed (wherever applicable) in admission to the Ph.D. Programme.

Admission Procedure: Dibrugarh University Ph.D Admission 2023-24

a) The list of the candidates short listed for Viva-Voce shall be notified by the concerned Department/Centre of Studies in the University website: www.dibru.ac.in.

b) There shall be a Viva Voce Examination for all the candidates as per the following details:

1. For 30% weightage for the candidates qualified in the DURAT 2023

2. For 100% weightage for the candidates who are exempted from appearing the DURAT 2023

On completion of the Viva-Voce, the Teaching Departments/ Centres of Studies concerned shall prepare the Final Merit Lists for admission, which shall be notified in the University website along-with the date(s) for admission.

c) The candidates selected for admission shall have to deposit their Admission and Course Fees of Rs. 6,000/- only (Rs. 2000/- for the M.Phil. Passed Candidates) through online mode at the time of admission.

d) All the Departments/Centres of Studies shall complete the admission process by 30/11/2023.
