AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

On-line proposals are invited from AICTE approved Institutions for disbursement of Post Graduate Scholarship to the students admitted in AICTE approved Institutes/Programs and within approved intake of M.E/ M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Des. through DBT for the 1st year students of the academic year 2023-24 having gained qualifying marks with valid GATE/CEED score card.

Procedure to be followed by Institutes and students eligible for AICTE PG scholarship.

1. All the eligible Institutes shall upload the eligible PG Student’s details on the AICTE portal on or before 15th December 2023 and distribute student’s Unique ID generated by the system to all the PG students admitted in AICTE approved Institutes/Programs and within approved intake during 2022-23. 2. All the students undergoing Post Graduate courses having valid GATE/CEED score and admitted in AICTE approved Institutes/Programs and within approved intake shall collect the Unique ID from the institute and the login at link: https://pgscholarship.aicte-india.org/ for uploading the scanned copies of all original documents in JPG/JPEG format only.

a. Scanned copy of GATE/CEED score card.

b. Bank account should be ACTIVE with Aadhar Card. The students can follow the manual link to check their bank account linkage status with Aadhar on https://pgscholarship.aicteindia.org/assets/manuals/Manual_for_Bank_account_linkage_with_Aadhaar.PDF

c. Only Aadhar active savings bank account will be considered since the PG Scholarship is released through Aadhaar Bridge Payment System (ABPS) mode through Public Financial Management System (PFMS).

d. No-Frill Account, Jan Dhan account, Bank Account having limits on transactions/credits & Joint Account are not permitted.

e. Bank account should not either be closed or transferred/shifted during period of course.

f. Scanned copy of original Aadhar Card should be uploaded in jpg/jpeg format.

g. Scanned copy of the valid Category Certificate for SC/ST, EWS, OBC & Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) should be uploaded. The latest (not beyond one year old) EWS and OBC & Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate should be issued by the Competent Authority.

3. The Institute shall then verify the student data and approve his/her candidature on the portal. (Students verification) and approve for eligibility of disbursement of the scholarship.

4. It may be ensured by the Institute that students personal details, date of admission/date of commencement & course completion date is correctly filled in.

All eligible students shall upload their information on or before 30th November 2023 on AICTE web portal and the Institute shall complete the procedure of student data verification and approval for the eligibility for the receipt of scholarship on or before 15th December 2023.

Guidelines: AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

1.0 Objectives of the Scheme: AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

AICTE in order to ensure development of technical education in India awards Post Graduate Scholarship of Rs. 12,400/- per month to full-time GATE/CEED qualified students admitted to AICTE approved post graduate programs in AICTE approved Institutions/ University Departments as per AICTE approved intake.

1.1 Amount of Scholarship: AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

The Scholarship under the scheme is Rs. 12,400/- per month per student.

1.2 Duration: AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

  1. The Scholarship is tenable for 24 months or for the duration of the course i.e. from the date of commencement of classes till the date of completion of the classes whichever is lower and is not extendable under any circumstances.
  2. Students of final years of dual degree integrated programmes would also be entitled to PG Scholarship from the 9th semester onwards i.e. only for one year in final year.

Eligibility for Scholarship: AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

Post Graduate Scholarship is entitled only to those students:

  1. Having a valid GATE/CEED score at the time of admission.
  2. Must be admitted as a full-time scholar.
  3. Students of final years of dual degree integrated programmes would also be entitled to PG Scholarship from the 9th semester onwards i.e. only for one year in final year.
  4. Admitted in AICTE approved Institutions/University Departments & AICTE approved programs viz. Master of Engineering, Master of Technology and Master of Design.
  5. Number of PG Scholarship is limited to the AICTE approved intake in the programme in that year. However in addition to the approved intake, AICTE will provide PG scholarship to the additional 10% candidates over and above the approved intake of that course from EWS category, if the university/ institute has admitted students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) as per MHRD OM F.No.12-4/2019-U1 dated 17th January 2019.

1.4 Other Entitlements: AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

Students are eligible for following leaves:

Casual leave                  :           15 days in an academic year

Medical leave                :           Maximum of one month (30 days) in an academic

year

Maternity leave             :          Candidates are eligible for maternity/ Paternity leave as per Govt.

of India norms issued from time to time at full rates of scholarship etc. once during the tenure of their award. However maximum duration of scholarship will not be extended in any circumstances.

Note: All kinds of leave should be approved at the level of the University/College/Institute. Prior approval of the University/Institution/College is mandatory for all types of leaves.

1.5 Terms and Conditions: AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship 2023

  1. In case any student/scholar receives any financial assistance from any other organization during the tenure of course, with due permission of the university/institute, the scholar will not be entitled for the scholarship for the duration in which he/ she is availing such financial assistance and it shall be resumed on discontinuance of such external financial assistance. Further the period for which the scholar has received external financial assistance shall be deducted from the maximum duration of the scholarship.
  2. Foreign students, sponsored candidates and candidates admitted in PG programs through management quota are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  3. It will be obligatory for every post-graduate student to undertake 8 to 10 hours (per week) of work related to teaching and research activities as assigned to him /her by the Institute. This could include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and development activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of Computers and other central facilities, assistance in library, etc.
  4. The Scholarship will be granted to the student on a monthly basis subject to the satisfactory academic performance and adherence to University/Institute norms/rules and regulations as applicable time to time, certified by the Head of the Institute and obligatory work as per point no (iii) above.
  5. PG Scholarship is not admissible to passed out students taking 2nd time admission on the basis of re-qualifying GATE/CEED exam who have already availed the scholarship from AICTE or any other centrally funded institution like – IITs and NITs etc.
  6. The amount of PG Scholarship is subject to change as per the notification issued by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi (now Ministry of Education) from time to time, with the approval of the Executive Committee of the Council.
  7. For those scholars who left the course midway on or after 1st October 2020, the scholarship shall be stopped.
  8. The Scholarship may be discontinued at any time for any kind of misconduct by the student, like involving in the act of ragging, misbehavior etc. on the recommendations of the Head of Institution (HOI).
  9. Salary grant or any other grant e.g. Contingencies, Library, Books etc, will not be admissible to the Institute/College/ University implementing this scheme in compliance with the instructions of Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Deptt. of Higher Education, Technical Section – I conveyed vide letter No. F. No. 9-2/2007-TS.I dated 22nd July, 2008.
  10. The mode and procedure of payment of Scholarship to the students shall be governed by the policy decision of the AICTE as may be notified from time to time on its web-portal or through advertisement in leading English/Hindi newspapers.
  11. Any belated claim preferred after one year of the completion of the program shall not be entertained.
  12. The AICTE may impose any other conditions as deemed necessary from time to time and the decision of the AICTE shall be final and binding upon the recipients i.e. University/Institute/College/Student who are under the ambit of the AICTE for receipt of PG Scholarship.
  13. In case any student/scholar avails the break during the scholarship period on medical ground with due permission of the university/institute, the scholarship will be discontinued from the month of such break and shall be resumed on rejoining the program for the remaining period of scholarship.
  14. Aadhar number is mandatory for applying for PG scholarship. Applications will not be accepted without the Aadhar number of the candidate.

What is the mode and procedure of payment of Scholarship?

Generally mode and procedure of payment of Scholarship to the students shall be governed by the policy decision of the AICTE as may be notified from time to time on its web-portal or through advertisement in leading English/Hindi newspapers. Presently mode of payment of scholarship is DBT.

What is the procedure for belated claim?

Any belated claim preferred after one year of the completion of the program shall not be entertained.

What are the reasons for failure to generate bank beneficiary code and remedy thereof?

The bank beneficiary code are not generated through PFMS mainly due to either of the following shortcomings:-
1. Aadhaar is not in NPCI database
2. Aadhar status -Inactive

In that case the student needs to visit Aadhaar Enrollment center/Bank for updating any leftover information like personal details, contact details (mobile no) or any other information.

When the scholarship is expected after the bank accounts is made ACTIVE?

On receipt of Aadhar active bank account details, bank beneficiary code is generated in the next 15 days. On successful generation bank beneficiary code before 20th of a particular month, scholarship shall be released at the end of that month. Otherwise at the end of next month.

Is there any last date for forwarding monthly attendance?

Attendance/ list of absentees are to be marked/ forwarded positively till 15th for disbursement by 30th of every month.

Does the students admitted in Architecture courses are eligible for PG scholarship scheme in A.Y 2023-24 ?

Yes, as per valid GATE score and PG scholarship scheme guidelines, students admitted in architecture courses are eligible for PG scholarship scheme in AY 2023-24.
