ADVERTISEMENT NO. 03/2024 [Walk-in interview (OFF-LINE) for Guest Faculty Tezpur University is looking for a Guest Faculty for the Spring Semester 2024 as per the following details.

| Centre for Distance and Online Education (01) | Mass Communication & Journalism | Eligibility (A or B): A i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject (as given in the previous column) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. ii) Besides fulfilling the dove qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission(Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time, as thecase may, are exempted from NET/SET/SLET. Provided the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to Jafe 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode: b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examineres c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted: d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal: e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored funded supported by the UGC/ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency: The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned NOTE: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET. Further, SLET/SET shall be valid as he minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to Universities/Colleges/Institutions in the respective state only. OR B. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university Institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any timesby any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai JiaoTong University (Shanghai). NOTES: Tezpur University Recruitment 2024: Guest Faculty
The Academic score as specified render UGC Regulations, 2018, in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.
With regard to the minimum requirement of educational qualification, screening, etc., relevant regulation of UGC/AICTE/NCTE will be applicable.
The selected candidates may also be engaged for subsequent semester(s), if required.
Application received after the last date of registration, application with incomplete data and application not in proper format as mentioned in this advertisement will be rejected.
Emoluments: Tezpur University Recruitment 2024: Guest Faculty
Appointed Guest Faculties will be paid Rs. 1,500/- per lecture subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- per month. No other allowances will be admissible.

Interested candidates are to register their names with detailed application as given in Annexure-I along with the filled-in ANNEXURE-II (attached herewith) by e-mail to the Head of the concerned Department as stated above with the subject line “APPLICATION FOR GUEST FACULTY against Advt. No. 03/2024”.
Candidates who do not register his/her name by the aforesaid time & date shall not be interviewed. Eligible candidates so registered shall appear before the concerned Selection Committee physically as per the above schedule.
The selected Guest Faculties would be required to be present in the campus to take the classes physically.
The Academic score as specified under UGC Regulations, 2018, in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the personal interview. Hence, the applicants must submit the filled in form as given at Annexure-I&II below.
If a large number of candidates register for the interview by the last date as stated above, then candidates short- listed on the basis of academic qualifications and experience (as per Annexure-II) may be called for the interview through e-mail and a notice for such applicants may also be uploaded in the University website before the scheduled date of interview. In absence of such e-mail/notice, all candidates who register their names as stated above may appear for the interview on the scheduled date and time.
