ADMIT CARD:

Admit cards of the said Exam will be available on the official website (https://recruitment.msrka.org/). Candidates are requested to download the same. Admit cards will be also to be sent to the candidate’s postal address through Registered post with A/D or Speed Post.

One Same Copy of Passport size Photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) should be paste on the Admit Card.

One same Passport size Photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) should be brought on the date of written exam as hard copy.

MANNER OF SELECTION OF HEADMASTER: Selection to the post of the HEADMASTER shall be made on the basis of the results of comprising written examination conducted by the Ashram, evaluation of academic and professional qualifications and personality tests of the candidates in the manner as per existing SSC Recruitment Rules.

MARKS DISTRIBUTION: Selection to the post of Headmaster of Higher Secondary School shall be made on the basis of written examination, evaluation of Academic and Professional qualifications and experience of the candidates in teaching and personality tests to be determined by the selection committee in the following manner:

(a) Written Examination : 60 marks

(b) Academic qualifications including professional qualifications : 28 marks

(c) Experience in teaching : 05 marks

(marks to be allotted as per the break-up detailed below)

The academic qualifications including professional qualification for selection to the post of Headmaster of High School, or Higher Secondary School shall be evaluated in accordance with The West Bengal School Service Commission (Selection for Appointment to the Posts of Headmaster in Secondary or Higher Secondary and Jr. High Schools) Rules, 2017, and subsequent Govt. orders time to time.

QUESTION PAPERS:

  1. Question Papers will be set in English.
  2. Provided written answer script/OMR shall not be reviewed or re-evaluated.
  3. Provided also that if any candidate makes omission or commits error or makes any mistake of any nature to fill in the OMR sheet or any defect crept in the OMR sheet of such candidate, the answer script of such candidate will not be evaluated and the candidature of such candidate will not be considered.

Educational Qualification Required / Eligibility Criteria:

Master’s Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks at the Post Graduate Level, with degree in Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Education / Post Graduate Basic Training from any recognized University or any training recognized by the State Government as equivalent and approved by NCTE.

They should also have minimum Ten years (10) continuous teaching experience on the date of Advertisement approved service in a Higher Secondary School / High School / Junior High School.

A Candidate willing to appear in the selection test for recruitment to the Post of Headmaster must have Bengali as first or Second Language at any of the Secondary or H.S or at any subsequent higher-level education.

AGE LIMIT: Maximum 55 years

SCALE OF PAY: As admissible as per Govt. Rules.

SYLLABUS OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION FOR THE POST OF HEADMASTER OF HIGH/HIGHER SECONDARY. SCHOOLS

Full Marks – 60

The paper will be divided into four PARTS:

  1. General Awareness and Current Affairs relating to School Education
  2. English
  3. Mathematics
  4. Issues in School Management

Each PART will comprise of fifteen (15) Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) items. Each MCQ item will have four options, out of which one will be the correct one and other three will be incorrect. The candidates will have to mark the correct answer. Each MCQ will carry ONE (1) mark. The Question Paper will be of Sixty (60) marks, and it will be of ONE (1) hour duration. There shall be no NEGATIVE marking.

PART – I (15 Marks)

General Awareness and Current Affairs relating to School Education

This PART, divided into three Sections, aims to test candidates’ knowledge pertaining to traditional & modern trends in educational philosophies, theories and practice at international, national and state (West Bengal) levels.

Section -A Five Issues related to International Level:

Educational philosophies of John Dewey, Burrhus Frederic Skinner, Piaget, Vygotsky & Kenneth Robinson.

  • Bloom’s Taxonomy (1956) & Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy (2001) by Anderson & Krathwohl and their relation to Learning, Teaching & Evaluation, including theories of multiple intelligences & Delor’s Report on Education ‘Learning: The Treasure Within’.
  • Cognitive and Social Constructivism and their impact on classroom transaction including constructive models of teaching-learning process.
  • Use of ICT in classrooms.
  • Major Educational Initiatives & Projects, related to school education, of the United Nations from 2014 to 2016.

Section -B

Five Issues related to National Level:

  1. Educational philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore & Jiddu Krishnamurti.
  • Major recommendations of Radhakrishnan Commission (1948-49), Mudaliar Commission (1952-54) & Kothari Commission (1964-66) and impact of those recommendations on School Education,
  • National Education Policy (1986) – main features.
  • Programme of Action (1992), Yash Pal Committee Report titled ‘Learning Without Burden’ (1993), including concepts of Inclusive Education.
  • Visions of the National Curriculum Framework (2005), SSM, RMSA and mandates of The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 related to School Education.

Section – C

Five Issues related to State Level:

  1. Educational philosophies of Vidyasagar, Vivekananda & Rishi Aurobindo.
  • Major Educational Initiatives for schools & school students in West Bengal from 2011 to 2016.
  • Approaches to New Curriculum, Syllabi & Textbooks at Elementary, Secondary & Higher Secondary levels followed in the state.
  • Characteristics & Implications of the Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) structure (The Peacock Model) followed in the Elementary level.
  • The Evaluation structure at the Secondary level (including Internal Formative Evaluation) & Evaluation structure at the Higher Secondary level (including Project) followed in the state.

This PART divided into three Sections, will contain questions related to Comprehension, Grammar & Vocabulary.
