IIT Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Hyderabad is inviting online applications for Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) Internships. Interested candidates can apply for the same by visiting the official website at https://iith.ac.in/research/SURE/.
Internship Capacity: IIT Hyderabad SURE Internships 2024
A total of 200 interns will be accepted, with 50 slots exclusively reserved for female candidates.
Fellowship Amount: IIT Hyderabad SURE Internships 2024
Each intern will receive Rs. 15,000 for the entire two-month period, equating to Rs. 7,500 per month. Alternatively, interns opting for a one-and-a-half-month duration will receive Rs. 10,000. No additional benefits or amounts are applicable.
Internship Duration: IIT Hyderabad SURE Internships 2024
The program will run for 1-2 months, tentatively from May to July (15.05.2024 to 14.07.2024). Participants can choose between one month, one and a half months, or the full two-month duration.

Eligibility: IIT Hyderabad SURE Internships 2024
Only open to non-IIT Hyderabad students with the following criteria:
- First-year MSc (Maths/Physics/Chemistry/Biology) or MA students.
- 2nd/3rd-year B.Tech./B.Des. students (all branches) or 3rd/4th-year students in the Integrated B.Tech.-M.Tech. program.

Applicants must be in the top 20% based on CGPA/% score in their discipline and certified by the Head of the Institute/Principal. Full-time enrollment is mandatory throughout the application and internship period.

Applicants must commit to full-time work for a minimum of one month; part-time or online internships are not permitted.

FAQs on Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure Internship Programme

2. What is the cost of the SURE Internship?
Ans: The SURE internship offered by IIT Hyderabad is completely free of cost. Also refer to Sl No 3 &4 as below.
3. Whether any internship is paid to the students of SURE?
Ans: Yes, successful interns will be paid an honorarium of ₹15,000 in total for the two months duration. If anyone opted 1 ½ months, he will be paid Rs. 10000. If one month internship is opted, he/she will be paid Rs. 7500 only.
4. Is the hostel fee is included in the fellowship charge which is ₹15000/-?
Ans: Hostel facility will be provided free of cost. However, the food charges are to be borne by the selected student. Except the internship amount, no other benefits are allowed.
5. Are there any medical facilities inside the IITH campus? Whether the facilities are extended to the interns:
Ans: Basic medical facilities are available. Outpatient services can be extended to the interns on nominal charges as per IITH norms which are applicable for its project staff. Medicines shall be arranged by the interns by themselves.
6. Whether the SURE internship is in online mode or offline mode?
Ans: This internship is offered only in offline mode. NOT in online and NOT in part-time.
7. My University classes will end in May or exam will start from July 2024. May I join for a month.
Ans: Yes. Refer to the relevant part in the application. You can opt for the same. However, in such case internship will be paid for one month only.
8. I am currently in my 3rd year of Integrated M.Sc./ Dual Degree Am I eligible to apply?
Ans: Yes. 3rd year and 4th year Integrated M Sc/ Dual Degree students are eligible to apply.
9. I am a student of B.Sc. 2 nd year or 3 rd year. Am I eligible to apply?
Ans: No. B.Sc. students are not eligible to apply.
10. I am studying B. Tech 2nd or 3rd year at IIT Hyderabad. Can I apply for the SURE Internship program?
Ans: No. This programme is ONLY for non-IITH students.
11. I had a query that this question in the SURE application form : Are you in the top 20% of your batch? So, the ‘batch’ here means the complete BTech (2020-24) batch including all the branches, or only my branch (CSE)?
Ans: The batch means only from your respective branch in your institution.
12. I am in M.A./M.Sc. 2 nd semester but my 1st semester result is not out. Am I eligible?
Ans: You are not eligible. You may apply for next year.
13. May I know about the clear view of the department, and what all the topics are covered in the internship.

14. I am in my 2nd year of BSc in triple majors. Will my application be considered as I am in the top 10% of the batch?
Ans: No. B.Sc. students are not eligible.
15. Though I am a 2nd year B.Tech student, my college did not complete even 1st semester. How can I apply?
Ans: You are not eligible. You may apply for next year.
16. I am currently pursuing M.Sc. 2nd semester of 1st year now and I do not have my last semester marksheet as the results are not published.
Ans: You are not eligible. You may apply for next year’s SURE Internship program.
17. I am a student of Electronics and Communications Engineering. Can I apply for the SURE Internship?
Ans: The Internship program is offered only in the streams that are mentioned in the application form.
18. I completed my B. Tech/ M. Tech/ MSc Program. Am I eligible to apply?
Ans: This programme is offered only the B. Tech/ M. Tech/ MSc pursuing students as mentioned in the poster and application form.
19. Can I change my mentor after allotment of internship?
Ans: No change is allowed as you have opted the guide/mentor while applying for the internship.
