FRIDU Ph.D Admission 2023
The Forest Research Institute Deemed to be University is going to conduct its Ph.D. Entrance Test on 07.01.2024 for enrolment in Ph.D. Programme in Forestry.
The candidates, who are interested for registration as research scholar for the Ph.D. Degree in Forestry in Forest Research Institute Deemed to be University Dehradun for the term of March 2024 are advised to apply in prescribed form latest by 10.12.2023 with a fee of Rs.1500/- through Bank Draft in favour of Registrar, FRI Deemed to be University payable at Dehradun. No application form will be entertained after the prescribed date.
The research centre-wise position of seats is mentioned below. The seats to reserved categories have been earmarked as per clause 5.3.2 of the Ph.D. Ordinance. Out of the published seats, 3% seats are reserved for the persons with disabilities as per clause 5.3.2 (f) (i) of Ph.D. Ordinance.
For eligibility please see clause 3 of the Ph.D. Ordinance available on the website and also below application form. Six-months Pre-Ph.D. Compulsory course would be conducted only once from February, 2024.
The entrance test would be held either in off line mode at different Research centres of Forest Research Institute deemed to be University or in online mode (Remote Proctored Examination).
In view of present scenario and uncertainties due to COVID-19 the university has the right to cancel the entrance test and adopt alternative mode of admission in order to maintain “social distancing’, safety and health of candidates.
In this regard the decision of FRI Deemed to be University shall be final

1. The Forest Research Centre for Eco-Rehabilitation, Prayagraj (FRCE Prayagraj) is a centre of FRI Deemed to be University Dehradun. The candidates who are applying for the seats of FRCE Prayagraj are required to mention in the application form at appropriate place and their candidature will be considered for FRCE Prayagraj seats only. And the candidates who are applying against the seats of FRI Deemed to be University, Dehradun, and their candidature will be considered for FRI, Dehradun only. The interview of candidates qualified in Ph.D. Entrance Test against the FRCE Prayagraj seats will be conducted in FRI, Dehradun.
2. Similarly, Forest Research Centre for Bamboo & Rattan Aizawl (FRC-BR, Aizawl) is a centre of RFRI, Jorhat. The candidates who are applying for the seats of FRC-BR, Aizawl are required to mention in the application form at appropriate place and their candidature will be considered for FRC-BR, Aizawl seats only. The interview of candidates qualified in Ph.D. Entrance Test against the FRC-BR, Aizawl seats will be conducted in RFRI, Jorhat. On selection, their synopsis seminar, progress reports presentations and pre-thesis submission seminar will be conducted in RFRI Jorhat.
