A position for a Research Associate (RA) is available in the research group of Dr. Md. Hedayetullah Mir, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Aliah University.
The project is aimed to develop photo responsive metal-organic framework (MOFs) crystals that can hop, split and jump under UV light.
Incorporating them into polymer host objects will let us control movement from molecules to millimetres, and their changing structures will allow us to control gas uptake and release, all opening up a new world of light-switched smart materials.

Principle Investigator:

Remuneration:
Rs. 38,000/- per month (Consolidated).
Tenure:
Initially for a period of 1 year, extendable up to completion of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent.
Eligibility Criteria:
Ph.D. in Chemistry/Material Science or equivalent degree with minimum 60% marks in M.Sc degree or equivalent degree. Candidates who have submitted their thesis can also apply.
Desirable Criteria: Preference will be given to the candidates with a prior research experience in synthesis of MOFs/crystal engineering/Photoactuating smart materials.
Age limit:
Age limit and relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC etc. as per Govt. of India rules.

Interview:
Shortlisted candidates are requested to appear in the interview personally (offline) on 27th September, 2023 at 02:00 P.M. in the Department of Chemistry, Aliah University to be organised by Dr. Md Hedayetullah Mir, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Aliah University.
Terms and Conditions:
i) The decision of the selection committee will be final.
ii) If the number of candidates appearing for the interview is large, the selection committee may restrict the number of candidates for the interview to a reasonable limit after considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
iii) The selected candidate will have to join duty immediately upon receiving the offer.
iv) The fellowship may be terminated with a 30 day notice before completing the tenure if performance to date is not deemed satisfactory.
