Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2023 Registrations begin

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2023 is a national-level aptitude test administered by XLRI Jamshedpur. Online registration for the XAT 2023 will begin on August 10, 2022 at xatonline.in. Candidates are advised to visit the website to view all XAT essential dates, eligibility requirements, paper patterns, and other information.

XAT 2023 will be conducted on Sunday, January 08, 2023. XLRI conducts test on behalf of the XAMI. For more than 72 years XLRI is conducting test at all India level to select the most appropriate candidate for management education. XAT, one of the oldest competitive examinations in the country, has always kept pace with the cutting-edge testing methodology.

XAT’s multidimensional testing framework, is designed to meaningfully asses the aptitude of candidates for future business success. XAT score is being used by more than 100 institutes for the admission.

XAT 2023 would be conducted across India in the following cities

Procedure for XAT & XLRI Registration

  • Visit www.xatonline.in and click on “Register” enter Name, Email Id, contact details and set password. A system generated email/message will be communicated to you. Candidate should save it for future communication.
  • A candidate must verify his email by clicking on the link and proceed to complete the application procedure.
  • In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he / she can save the data already entered by choosing “SAVE AND EXIT “ tab. Prior to submission of the online application, candidates are advised to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. Visually Impaired candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify the details to ensure that the same are correct prior to final submission.
  • Name of the candidate or his /her Father’s name/ Mother’s name etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates/ Mark sheets/Identity proof. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.

Payment of Fees

  • XAT Registration Fee Rs. 2000/
  • Candidates interested in XLRI programmes needs to pay an additional fee of Rs. 200/-each.
  • Indian Candidates applying for GMP through GMAT- Rs. 2500/-
  • NRI/Foreign Candidates applying for one or more programmes through GMAT- Rs. 5000/-


  1. The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
  2. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay / Visa / Master Card / Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.
  4. On successful completion of the transaction, an e-Receipt will be generated. Non-generation of ‘E-Receipt’ indicates PAYMENT FAILURE. On failure of payment, Candidates are advised to login again using their registered Email ID and Password and repeat the process of payment.
  5. Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-Receipt and online Application Form. Please note that if the same cannot be generated, online transaction may not have been successful.
  6. For Card charges are listed in Indian Rupee. If you use a non-Indian credit card, your bank will convert to your local currency based on prevailing exchange rates.

There is facility to download/print application form containing fee details after payment of fees.

Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his / her photograph and signature as per the specifications given below.



  1. Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture.
  2. The picture should be in colour, against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
  3. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.
  4. If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows.
  5. If you have to use flash, ensure there’s no “red-eye”.
  6. If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
  7. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your face.
  8. Ensure that the size of the scanned image should be between 20KB-50KB. If the size of the file is more than 50KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning.


  1. The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
  2. The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
  3. The Signature will be used to put on the ADMIT CARD and wherever necessary.
  4. The Applicant’s signature obtained on the ADMIT CARD and attendance sheet at the time of the examination should match the uploaded signature. In case of mismatch, the candidate may be disqualified.
  5. Ensure that the size of the scanned image should be between 20KB – 50KB.


  1. Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).
  2. Set Colour to True Colour.
  3. File Size as specified above.
  4. Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
  5. The image file should be JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is: image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon. Candidates using MS Windows/MS Office can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding 50KB by using MS Paint or MS Office Picture Manager. Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using ‘Save As’ option in the File menu and size can be reduced below 50KB (photograph & signature) by using crop and then resize option.

If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed. While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate will be provided with a link to upload his photograph and signature. Procedure for Uploading the Photograph and Signature

  1. There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature.
  2. Click on the respective link “Upload Photograph / Signature”.
  3. Browse & Select the location where the Scanned Photo/ Signature file has been saved.
  4. Select the file by clicking on it.
  5. Click on the “Upload” button.
Q. 1 How do I know that my application is registered?

Ans. Successful Registration is indicated by the Page displayed after clicking the Register Button indicating that a verification Email has been triggered to your registered Email ID, you need to click on the verification Email and you’ll receive a credential mail post that.

Q. 2 I did not receive the email intimation for registration of my application?

Ans. Delivery of these Emails and SMS purely depends upon the correctness of E-Mail ID and Mobile Number provided, Policy of your E – Mail Service Provider to accept and Divert such emails under Bulk or Spam Mails or bounce back such mails without accepting it due to heavy number of emails generated by our Applications. In case of Govt./official /company Email Ids , delivery is controlled by your Company Policies. You may raise a query as well in this case

Q. 3 I have forgotten my XAT password, could you help!

Ans. Navigate to website, click on “Login” and then “Forgot Password”, follow the steps to change the password.

Q. 4 When shall I receive the XAT 2023 Admit Card?

Ans. You can download the admit card from our website from 20th December 2022 onwards.

Q. 5 What is the duration of the test?

Ans. The duration of the test will be of three hours i.e. from 9:30 AM to 12.30 PM on January 08, 2023, Sunday.

Q. 6 When are XAT 2023 results out?

Ans. The XAT Result will be declared 3 weeks after the conduct of XAT-2023
