New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones started Sunday's road game against the New York Giants

but was benched in the second half after throwing two interceptions in the first half.

Coach Bill Belichick turned to backup Bailey Zappe, who helped the team tie the game but ultimately lost 10-7.

Jones finished the first half 12-of-21 for 89 yards, with Zappe going 9-of-14 for 54 yards and an interception.

Belichick declined to name a starter for the next game against the Los Angeles Chargers,

emphasizing the need for better ball security and acknowledging the team's overall struggles.

Jones accepted responsibility for the poor performance, citing bad quarterback play and the inability to move the ball effectively.

The Patriots, with a 2-8 record, face multiple challenges, including inconsistent quarterback play and a lack of offensive production.
