ODI World Cup 2023: No opening ceremony? Here's what we know so far

It appears that the ODI World Cup 2023 will not have an official opening ceremony, according to reports.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had not formally announced any plans for an opening ceremony,

but there were earlier reports suggesting that famous artists like Ranveer Singh, Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shreya Ghoshal, and Asha Bhosle might perform after the Captains' Day event.

However, there is neither confirmation nor a cancellation announcement regarding the opening ceremony from the BCCI.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is hosting Captains' Day on the eve of the ODI World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to start on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

The first match of the tournament will feature defending champions England facing off against 2015 and 2019 runners-up New Zealand at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

Ben Stokes: The hero of England's 2019 World Cup triumph, who is returning for the quadrennial event.

Trent Boult: New Zealand's top wicket-taker, upon whom the Kiwis will rely, hoping that his swinging deliveries can take early wickets.

Mark Wood: England's fast bowler known for extreme pace and an important component of England's middle-over plans.

Devon Conway: The Blackcaps opener in sublime form, tasked with providing strong starts, especially in the absence of Kane Williamson.

Adil Rashid: A potential game-changer for the defending champions, with his leg-spin capable of making or breaking the middle overs for England.

While there may not be an official opening ceremony, cricket fans can still look forward to an exciting tournament with these talented players taking the field.
