Kerala State Film Awards 2023

On Friday (July 21), the winners of the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards were announced by Saji Cherian, the Minister for Cultural Affairs in Kerala.

The awards, presented by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, are highly prestigious and recognize outstanding achievements in the film industry.

A panel of judges, headed by renowned Bengali film director and screenwriter Goutam Ghose,

who is known for his notable works like "Padma Nadir Majhi," "Kaalbela," and "Moner Manush," was responsible for selecting the winners among the 154 movies that were submitted for consideration.

The award for Best Film was bestowed upon "Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam." Mahesh Narayanan earned the title of Best Director for his work on the film "Ariyippu."

Mammootty was honored with the Best Actor award for his performance in "Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam," while Vincy Aloshious was recognized as the Best Actress for her role in the film "Rekha."

These accolades serve as a testament to the talent and creativity displayed by the filmmakers and actors in the Malayalam film industry, and their contributions to the world of cinema.
