Joc Pederson Tripped on a Blade of Grass and then the Cubs Scored a Bunch of Runs

It seems like Joc Pederson's mishap in left field brought back memories of Gregory Polanco's unfortunate stumble in right field from years ago.

In this recent game, the dramatic turn of events began with Seiya Suzuki's powerful two-run homer that tied the game and sent the ball onto Waveland Avenue.

Then, Jeimer Candelario hit what appeared to be a routine pop-up to Joc Pederson in left field.,

However, Pederson misjudged the ball and ended up on his knees, allowing Candelario to reach second base with what was initially scored as a double.

Following that unexpected turn of events, catcher Yan Gomes managed to single on a grounder with a low exit velocity and a minimal expected batting average of .090.

With runners on first and third base, Nick Madrigal scored Candelario on a fielder's choice play, plus an error at the plate.

The game had now swung in favor of the Cubs, with a score of 7-6. With two runners on base,

Christopher Morel sealed the deal by launching a massive home run over the deep center field wall, giving the Cubs a commanding four-run lead.

Morel's homer left his bat at an impressive speed of 108.3 MPH and traveled an astonishing 431 feet.

This marked his 20th home run of the season, a remarkable achievement for the 24-year-old second-year player.

And, as a fitting exclamation point, Morel celebrated his feat by flipping his bat in style.
