Today’s doodle celebrates English actor and director Alan Rickman, a wizard in the world of entertainment with a career spanning almost 40 years.

Alan Rickman was an English actor, director, and producer, known for his versatile and iconic performances on stage and screen.

He was born on February 21, 1946, in Hammersmith, London, and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).

Rickman began his acting career on stage in various productions before making his breakthrough film performance as the villainous Hans Gruber in Die Hard (1988).

The Harry Potter film series (2001-2011) as Professor Severus Snape.

BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an Emmy Award. He sadly passed away on January 14, 2016, at the age of 69, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
