As of its opening day on August 25, Dream Girl 2, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, earned approximately Rs 9.7 crore at the box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

In comparison to Ayushmann Khurrana's recent films like Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Anek, Doctor G, and An Action Hero
which faced box office failures, Dream Girl 2 aims to become a significant commercial success for the actor
Dream Girl 2 currently faces limited competition in theaters since movies such as Gadar 2, Jailer, and OMG 2 have already been running for two weeks.
The film is a sequel to Dream Girl, released in 2019, which also had a similar opening day collection of Rs 10.50 crores
but eventually became one of Ayushmann's biggest hits, grossing Rs 142 crores, according to Bollywood Hungama
The Indian box office has shown signs of revival in recent months after the pandemic-induced slowdown,
and Dream Girl 2's opening day collection is comparable to other recent releases like OMG 2 (Rs 10.26 crore), Satyaprem Ki Katha (Rs 9.25 crore), and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Rs 11 crore)
Ayushmann Khurrana described Dream Girl 2 as a "massy" film, indicating that it has a broader appeal
and is geared toward a larger audience compared to his previous films, which were often considered middle-of-the-road cinema.
Dream Girl 2 is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
The film also features a star-studded cast including Paresh Rawal, Manjot Singh, Seema Pahwa, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, and Manoj Joshi, among others.
