Applications in the prescribed format given at the Commission’s website at http://www.pscwbapplication.in are invited from Indian Citizens and such other nationals as are declared eligible by Govt. of India for recruitment to the under mentioned post which is temporary but likely to be permanent.
N.B. : ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK IN BENGALI IS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST MENTIONED BELOW. (i) Must have Bachelor’s degree of a recognized University;
(ii) Must have the minimum physical standard as mentioned below:-

AGE : WBPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector (Non-Technical) posts
Must not be less than 18 (eighteen) years and not more than 39 (thirty nine) years on the 01.01.2025 and upper age-limit shall be relaxable in respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes or the Other Backward Classes (Group A or Group B) or other reserved category, if any, as per the extant rules of the Government.
SYLLABUS & SCHEME FOR EXAMINATION: WBPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector (Non-Technical)
The examination shall be conducted in two parts:
PART-I: The syllabus and scheme for such examination shall be framed by the Commission in consultation with the Transport Department, Govt. of W.B.
PART-II: Candidates will be called to PART-II (Personality Test) on the basis of the ranks in PART-I Examination. The Personality Test will be conducted by the Commission.
Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in PART-I & PART-II Examinations taken together.

I) Height – 170 cms.
II) Chest – 86 cms. (With Expansion of 5 cms.)
III) Weight – Proportionate to Height & Age
WBPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector Fee
Fee: Rs. 160/- (Rupees one hundred sixty) only. In addition to that, the candidates will be charged as follows:
(i) For online payment through debit/credit cards: Convenience fee 1% of the examination fee subject to a minimum ofRs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.
(ii) For online payment through net banking: Convenience fee of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.
(iii) For offline payment through bank counter: Service Charge of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty) only. S.C./S.T. candidates of West Bengal and Persons with disabilities (P.W.D.) having physical disability of 40% and above are not required to pay any fee. BC candidates of West Bengal are, however, required to pay usual fee as aforesaid.
NO EXEMPTION OF FEE IS AVAILABLE TO S.C./S.T. CANDIDATES OF OTHER STATES AND B.C. CANDIDATES.
No claim for refund of the fee will be entertained nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination.

1. SUBMISSION OF MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION FOR ONE PARTICULAR POST IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. THE CANDIDATURE OF A CANDIDATE WHO SUBMITS MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO THE SELECTION PROCEDURE, WILL BE CANCELLED EVEN IF HE/SHE IS ADMITTED TO THE SAME.
2. The qualifications prescribed in the advertisement are as per the notified recruitment rules issued by Government.
3. All the degrees/diplomas/certificates mentioned in the advertisement must have been obtained from recognized Universities/Institutions.
4. The Commission may fix qualifying cut-off marks for all the categories of the vacancies in each level of examination, i.e. written, interview and aggregate.
IN THE CASE OF WRITTEN TEST, CANDIDATES SUFFERING FROM BLINDNESS OR LOW VISION AND LOCO-MOTOR DISABILITY OR CEREBRAL PALSY WITH WRITING EXTREMITY WILL BE ALLOWED THE HELP OF A SCRIBE, IF REQUIRED. THE SCRIBE SHOULD NOT POSSESS EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION HIGHER THAN THE REQUISITE QUALIFICATION FOR THE POST.
5. Besides pay, the posts carry allowances as admissible.
6. The benefits of reservation of vacancies and upper age concession upto 5 years are admissible only to S.C. and S.T. candidates of West Bengal and upto 3 years to O.B.C. (category ’A’ & ‘B’) candidates of West Bengal. S.C., S.T. and B.C. candidates of other States may apply for unreserved vacancies as general candidates. Such benefits are also available upto the age of 45 years for Persons with disabilities.
(a) A candidate claiming to be S.C., S.T., B.C., B.C.(Non Creamy Layer), persons with disabilities (40% and above) or Meritorious Sportsperson must have a certificate issued on or before closing date of submission of online application in support of his/her claim from a competent authority of West Bengal as specified below:
For S.C., S.T. and B.C. candidates:
(i) In the district, the Sub-Divisional Officer of the Sub-Division concerned, and
(ii) In Kolkata, the District Magistrate, South 24-Parganas or such Additional District Magistrate, South 24-Parganas, as may be authorized by the District Magistrate, South 24-Parganas, on behalf and the District Welfare Officer, Kolkata and Ex-officio Joint Director, Backward Classes Welfare.
