- Link Aadhaar with EPIC: The app allows you to link your Aadhaar card with your Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC), streamlining the verification process.
- Delete or Add Names: If you need to remove an incorrect name or add a new name to the voter list, the app facilitates this process.
- Election Results & Candidate Information: Users can easily access election results, as well as detailed information about candidates contesting in their constituency.
- General Election Information: The app provides a wealth of information about the election process, including rules related to the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), polling hours, and other important details.
Updated Voter ID Rules for Maharashtra Elections 2024
In a significant update for the upcoming elections, the ECI has made provisions to ensure that voters can cast their ballots even if they do not possess the standard Voter Photo Identity Card (EPIC).
The commission has approved 12 alternative identity proofs that voters can use for identification at polling stations. These include:
- Aadhaar Card
- Employment Identity Card (MGNREGA)
- Bank/Post Office Passbook with Photograph
- Health Bima Smart Card (Ministry of Labour)
- Driving Licence
- PAN Card
- National Smart Card (Population Register)
- Passport
- Pension Document
- Govt-Issued ID Cards (Central/State)
- Public Sector Undertaking Cards
- Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment ID Card for Persons with Disabilities
- Parliamentary/Legislative Assembly/Council Member Cards
This flexibility ensures that all voters, including those who may not have a Voter ID card with a photograph, can still participate in the electoral process.
