 Provisional list of applicants exempted from the written Admission Test for the Ph. D. Programme, 2021-22

The candidates will have to fill in the application form through the online portal of the university website (http://vidyasagar.ac.in) which will be able available with effect from 01.09.2021.

After successful completion of all the states (e.g. feeling in the personal details, academic details, uploading photo and signature), the candidates will have to pay Rs. 500/- only (plus convenience fee & GST, if applicable) as application fee for the PhD. Programme through online mode of payment (credit, debit, net banking etc.) only.

The last date of submission of online application is 14.09.2021.

Eligibility Criteria for Application

A person who have obtained a Master’s Degree or a degree deemed equivalent from any university or institution recognised by this university for such other degree as may be considered sufficient for this purpose shall also be eligible for admission.

The candidate has to obtain at least 55% marks in the General Category and 50% marks in the SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B category.

How were the following provisions are to be noted:

i) a candidate who has completed at least a total period of 5 years in UG and PG study in a recognised institution or university

ii) the candidate is not currently admitted as a student in any full-time course of studies or registered for doing PhD in any university;

iii) candidates who have regular M.Phil/M.Tech./ or a degree deemed to be equivalent by the Board of Research Studies and the candidates who will complete the process of submission of their M.Phil. dissertation within 17.09.2021 shall be exempted from appearing at the Written Admission Test for this purpose and will have to appear only at an interview to the conducted by the Ph.D. Committee;

iv) candidates who have qualified the NET/ GATE/ SET/ UGC (JRF)/CSIR (JRF) or any other examinations, considered equivalent by the BRS, shall also be exempted from appearing at the Written Admission Test and will have to appear at an interview;

v) in all other cases, the candidates will have to appear at the Written Admission Test and if qualified, have to appear at an interview to be conducted by the respective Ph.D. Committee, provided that the candidates, obtaining 50% marks at the Written Admission Test, shall be eligible to appear at the interview;

vi) final semester PG students are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. Programme provided that they fulfill the above requirements during admission.
