University of Calcutta PhD Admission 2025 in Commerce
Advertisement for Admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Commerce, 2025 Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta (UCAC, Asutosh Building, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata 700073) under University of Calcutta (Regulation for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D.), Regulations 2016 (www.caluniv.ac.in).
The number of vacant seats is not more than 40 (forty), and admission shall be made following West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2013.
Application Form (annexed in the last page of this advertisement) duly filled in and scanned, together with scanned self-attested photocopies of all relevant mark sheets, NET/SET/M.Phil. certificate(s), date of birth certificate, caste certificate (for reserved category), and receipt of deposit of Application Fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only) to be paid online through SBI Collect must be submitted to the email id [email protected] through 21st January, 2025 to 12th February, 2025 (by 12.00 midnight).
Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
Eligibility Criteria: University of Calcutta PhD Admission 2025 in Commerce
Candidates having Master’s degree in Commerce or equivalent with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale are eligible to apply for admission to the Ph.D. programme in Commerce.
A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled and other categories as per the UGC norm.
In case a candidate wishes to apply for admission to the Ph.D. programme in a subject other than the one in which he/she has obtained the qualifying degree, he/she will have to seek an endorsement by the Ph.D. Research Advisory Committee of the subject in which he/she seeks admission as a Ph.D. student, at the time of the submission of his/her application for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
In case of candidates holding a qualifying degree from other Universities, admission for the Ph.D. programme will proceed after determination of equivalence by the relevant University body and fulfilment of the admission criteria.
