When the IPL retention window closed, the 10 franchises collectively retained 46 players, with a total investment of Rs 558.5 crore.
Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and inaugural IPL winners Rajasthan Royals opted for full retentions, securing six players each.
Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad retained five players each.
Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings kept four, three, and two players, respectively.
Heading into the mega auction, Punjab Kings have the largest purse, with Rs 110.5 crore available.
