TATA IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 50th Match

The 2023 Indian T20 League has been a highly competitive competition, with all 10 teams still in contention for the playoffs. Match number 50 will see Delhi take on Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Delhi is confident after their recent win against Gujarat and will be looking to move up from the bottom of the standings with a win over Bangalore. Delhi struggled early in their last match, losing five wickets within the Powerplay, but Aman Khan’s fighting knock helped them recover and post 130 runs.

They defended this total with an excellent bowling performance. Delhi’s skipper, David Warner, has been leading the team with his bat, but he will need support from Philip Salt, Mitchell Marsh, and Manish Pandey.

Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel have been consistent in the spin department, while the pace bowlers Khaleel Ahmed, Ishant Sharma, and Anrich Nortje have also stepped up.

Bangalore is coming off a victory and looking for their sixth win of the campaign. The opening pair of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli has been in scintillating form, with Glenn Maxwell contributing as well.

Mohammed Siraj leads the wicket-taking charts for them, and he will form a lethal pairing with Josh Hazlewood. The spin duo of Karn Sharma and Wanindu Hasaranga have done a decent job so far and will need to be on top of their game in this fixture.

In the previous meeting between the two sides, Bangalore won by a margin of 23 runs. It remains to be seen if they will do the double over Delhi, or if Delhi will return the favor this time around.

Head-to-head:

RCB have the wood over DC with a 18-10 record in their 29-game IPL history (1 no result), and Kotla as well, where the visitors have won 6 out of nine games. In fact, Bangalore have won the six of their last seven matches in Delhi, their lone defeat coming in the last meeting in 2019.
