EMPLOYMENT ADVERTISEMENT
Applications in the prescribed format are invited for recruitment on the posts of Assistant Professors and Assistant Librarians in the University. The application form duly filled in and completed along with application fee in the form of Demand Draft payable to the Comptroller, SKN Agriculture University, Jobner should reach to the Registrar, Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Jaipur-303329 (Rajasthan), on or before March 18, 2023 upto 5:00 PM, failing which the same will not be considered. The application fee would be applicable as given below:
A. The candidate of Unreserved and Backward Class/ Most Backward Class of Creamy layer category: Rs. 2200/-
B. The bonafide candidate of Rajasthan under Backward Class/Most Backward Class of Non-Creamy layer category and Economically Weaker Sections: Rs. 1600/-
C. The candidate of Disabled category, bonafide candidates of Rajasthan under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes: Rs. 1100/-
The details of posts with categories are as under:
Important Note:
- The horizontal reservation to Divyangian (Specially Abled) candidates shall be provided as per Government of Rajasthan rules as amended from time to time that means the candidate shall be included/adjusted in same category to which he/she belongs.
- In case of unavailability of eligible and suitable candidate of Rajasthan from BC/MBC/EWS category, these posts shall be filled as per Govt. of Rajasthan rules.
- The reservation to female candidates including widows and divorcee shall be provided as per the Rajasthan Teachers and Officers (Selection for the appointment) act, 1974 for the bonafide residents of Rajasthan vide Government of Rajasthan order No. 3(49) Krishi/Group- 3/2016 dated 17.3.2017 and as amended from time to time as per reservation policy of Government of Rajasthan.
- In case of unavailability of eligible and suitable divorcee or widow candidate, these posts shall be filled through interchange among divorcee/widow of the same category, and if eligible and suitable divorce/widow candidate are not available, these posts shall be filled through other women candidate of the same category. Further, in case of unavailability of eligible and suitable women candidate, these posts shall be filled through male candidate of the same category such it reserved.
- Widow candidate will have to furnish a certificate of death of her husband and a link certificate with her husband (ration card, Voter ID etc.) from the competent authority, and in case of divorcee, she will have to furnish the proof of divorcee issued by Hon’ble Court along with application form.
- Reservation shall be provided to SC/ST/BC/MBC/EWS candidates as per the Rajasthan Teachers and Officers (Selection for the appointment) act, 1974 and as amended from time to time and as per reservation policy of Government of Rajasthan, for the bonafide residents of Rajasthan only, and candidates must submit their relevant certificate along with application form.
- The candidates belonging to BC/MBC/EWS must submit their caste certificate issued on the basis of income of mother/father by competent authority recently (Not before six months from the last date of application submission and date of interview also, if called) for the purpose of non-creamy layer. The candidates applying under EWS category should attach EWS Income & Assets Certificate issued recently by competent authority in the standard format.
- If eligible and suitable candidates are not available for any of the reserved post shown for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of Rajasthan, these posts will not be filled by General Category candidates.
- 9. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/MBC/EWS of the State other than the State of Rajasthan will be considered in the General category.
(A) Assistant Professor (other than Ag. Engineering & Dairy Technology)
Essential Qualifications
i. A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is followed) will be required at the Master’s level degree in the relevant subject from the recognized University. A relaxation of 5% will be provided (from 55% to 50%) in the marks, at the Master’s level for SC/ST category candidates.
ii. One publication in NAAS rated referred journal.
iii. Candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor(s) and equivalent position, conducted by ASRB/U.G.C./C.S.I.R. or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iv. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and as amended by the ICAR/UGC from time to time [and also as per ICAR letter No. 23(46)/2010-EQR (Edn.) dated 26th December, 2011, issued by ADG (EQR] and the candidate has at least two full length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4 on the last date of submission of application.
v. Further, the award of degrees to candidates registered for the M. Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/ By laws/ Reguladons of the Institution awarding the degrees and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges / Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions: –
a. Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
b. Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
c. Candidate had published two research papers out of which at least one in a refereed journal from his/her Ph.D. work;
d. The candidate had presented two papers in seminars/conferences based on his/her Ph.D. work, e. Open Ph.D. viva-voce of the candidate had been conducted.
(a) to (e) are to be certified by the Registrar/COE/Competent Authority or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
vi. NET shall not be required for such Master’s Programme in discipline for which NET is not conducted.
vii. A minimum score as stipulated in Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out by the University.
Desirable:
i. Ph.D. in relevant discipline.
(B) Assistant Professor (Ag. Engineering)
Essential Qualifications
i. Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with first class or equivalent either in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree but at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is followed) will be required at the Master’s level degree in the relevant subject from the recognized University if first class in Bachelor’s degree. A relaxation of 5% will be provided (from 55% to 50%) in the marks, at the Master’s level for SC/ST category candidates.
ii. One publication in NAAS rated referred journal.
iii. Candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor(s) and equivalent position, conducted by ASRB/U.G.C/C.S.I.R. or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iv. vii. A minimum score as stipulated in Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out by the University.
Desirable:
i. The appropriate branches of engineering are as; (a) Farm Machinery and Farm Power, (b) Processing and Food Engineering/Agriculture Process Engineering, (c) Renewable Energy Engineering, (d) Soil and Water Engineering/ Land and Water Engineering, (e) Agriculture Structure and Environmental Management.
ii. Ph.D. in relevant discipline.
(C) Assistant Professor (Dairy Technology) Essential Qualifications
i. Master degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in the concerned subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university as per the details given below. A relaxation of 5% will be provided (from 55% to 50%) in the marks, at the Master’s level for SC/ST category candidates.

Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET Provided, that candidate registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009 shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinance/Byelaws/ Regulations of the Institutions awarded the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors or equivalent positions in University/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode.
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted.
d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in referred journal.
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the ICAR/UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.
(a) to (e) are to be certified by the Registrar/COE/Competent Authority or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
iii. NET shall not be required for such Master’s Programme in discipline for which NET is not conducted.
iv. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the Score Card by the University.
v. The candidate should have at least one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated referred journal.
Desirable:
i. Ph.D. in relevant discipline
(D) Assistant Librarian
i. Master’s degree in Library Science/ Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade/OGPA in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library. A relaxation of 5% will be provided (from 55% to 50%) in the marks, at the Master’s level for SC/ST category candidates.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the ICAR/UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be.
iii. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with “University Grants Commission” (minimum standards and procedure for Award of Ph.D. degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions.
a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
c) Candidate had published two research papers out of which at least one in a refereed journal from out of his/her Ph.D. work;
d) The candidate had presented two papers in seminars/conferences from out of his/her Ph.D. work; e) Open Ph.D. viva-voce of the candidate had been conducted.
(a) to (e) are to be certified by the Registrar/COE/Competent Authority or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
iv. A minimum score as stipulated in API based PBAS as set out by the university.
Desirable:
i. Ph.D. in relevant discipline
(E) Assistant Professor (Asstt. Dir.) Physical Education
i. A Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Physical Education OR Master’s Degree in Sports Science with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) with a consistently good academic record. A relaxation of 5% will be provided (from 55% to 50%) in the marks, at the Master’s level for SC/ST category candidates.
ii. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
iii. NET shall not be required for such Masters Programme in discipline for which NET is not conducted.
iv. Passed the physical fitness test conducted in accordance with UGC Regulations.
v. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in accordance with University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards & Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/ SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Director of Physical Education.
vi. Two years of related work experience.
vii. A minimum score as stipulated in API based PBAS. Desirable:
i. Ph.D. in relevant discipline

Interested eligible persons may apply in computer typed prescribed format of application form, API score card along with relevant documents to the Registrar, Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Jaipur- 303329 (Rajasthan). Every page of the application form, self-assessed score card, enclosures must be signed by the candidate at the bottom of each page. Note:- Eligible candidates must have spent at least 6 years (4+2 or 3+3) during under-graduate and post graduate programme in their academic career.
GENERAL CONDITIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS:
- The application form in MS Word format and the Score Card should be downloaded from the University Website (www.sknau.ac.in) and only the typed copy of the application form (in Times New Romans script and font size 12) along-with self-assessed score card and enclosures should be submitted along with signature on each page.
- The candidates desiring to apply for more than one post must submit separate application for each post in separate envelope.
- The envelope containing application form should be super-scribed with “Advertise No…….. APPLICATION FORM FOR THE POST OF………………….., SUBJECT……..
- The candidates are required to enclose attested photocopies of all the documents related to qualifications they possess and proof of other related information. It is compulsory to write the enclosure number related to photocopies attached as evidence, otherwise the application form will be treated as incomplete and rejected without any information. Proof of documents/ qualifications received after due date will not be accepted. The candidate must write page number on each page including application form and all the attached enclosures. The complete set must either be spiral bound or holed and tag tied.
- The candidate must fill his self-assessed score (candidates score) in Score Card provided by the University and must be attached with the application form. Application received without duly filled candidates score card will not be considered.
- Every page of the application form, self-assessed score card, enclosures must signed by the candidate at the bottom of each page. Further, every page of the application form, score card and all the enclosures must be numbered serially.
- Applications and score card received after the last date or incomplete forms will be rejected without making any further correspondence and no fee shall be refunded. University shall not be responsible for any delay.
- Persons already in service must apply through proper channel. However, to avoid delay, an advance copy of application along with requisite fee and other documents, may be received before the closing date. The advance copy of application form should be superscripted with “ADVANCE COPY”. Such applicants must produce NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from their present employer at the time of interview or submitted along with application form through proper channel.
- The University reserves the right to: (i) Withdraw the advertisement either partly or wholly at any time without assigning any reason to this effect. (ii) Fill or not to fill any or all the posts advertised for any reasons whatsoever. (iii) Increase or decrease the number of post(s) with maintaining roster system so advertised. (iv) Alter/insert corrections/additions in the advertisement in the event of any error or otherwise before the last date prescribed for the receipt of applications.
- Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Candidate appointed through this advertisement can be posted at any unit of the SKN Agriculture University, Jobner.
- A candidate, who knowingly or willfully furnishes incorrect or false particulars or suppresses material information, will be disqualified and, if appointed, will be liable to dismissal from service without prior notice.
- The candidate appointed against any post shall be governed by the act/statutes/rules and regulations of the University. Pension and other allowances will be admissible to selected candidates as per financial rules of the University modified from time to time.
- For the employees appointed on or after 1.1.2004, the new contributory Pension Scheme and all other rules as amended by the Government of Rajasthan from time to time (F.13(1) Finance/Rules/2003 dated 06.05.2004) shall be applicable.
- No candidate shall be eligible for the appointment to the service who has more than two children on or after 1.6.2002 (as per Govt. of Rajasthan rules as amended from time to time). i. Provided that the candidates having more than two children shall not be disqualified for appointment so long as the number of children he/she has on 1 June, 2002, does not increase. ii. Provided further that where a candidate has only one child from earlier delivery but more than one children are born out of single subsequent delivery, the children so born shall be deemed to be one entity while counting the total number of children.
- The plan/scheme posts are co-terminus with the Plan/Scheme. The posts of plan (State/ ICAR) will be filled only upto the project period and after completion of the project, selected person will be immediately discontinued from the University services without any notice period. He/she will not be adjusted in any other project and/or transferred.
- In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidates.
- Only those candidates will be considered for interview that fulfils eligibility criteria for the post up to the last date of submission of application. Any qualification, degree, award, publication, etc. achieved after the last date of application will not be considered. 19. Any type of canvassing or influencing will be treated as disqualification.
- The candidates will have to produce the original copies of all certificates and documents attached at the\ time of interview for verification.
- It is essential to mention the E-mail ID in the application- The candidates may be given directives/ information/ call letters etc. through E-mail only. The University will not be responsible for any loss of E-mail sent, due to invalid/wrong E-mail ID provided by the candidate. No other form of communication will be used in further course of action.
- The candidates must intimate to the Registrar, SKNAU, Jobner in case there is any change in his/her correspondence or permanent address after the submission of the application and also intimate in case his/her mobile numbers/email ID are changed.
- No interim correspondence shall be entertained.
- Information uploaded on the University website shall not be provided to the candidate under RTI Act, 2005. The uploaded information on the University website shall remain for a specific period only. Therefore, the candidates are advised to download the information and preserve them for future reference. In midway of recruitment process neither any application under Right to Information Act, 2005 shall be entertained nor shall information be provided. Factual information under RTI Act may be provided only after declaration of final results. Reply to inferential (speculative) questions shall not be provided.
- No TA and DA will be paid for appearing to the interview even if the interview is not held on the
- scheduled date due to one or the other reasons.
- For retirement benefits, the candidates already working under Old Pension Scheme in Government organization/institutions and applying through proper channel with N.O.C. for higher post in this University, their pension benefits i.e. Gratuity and Leave Encashment will be decided keeping in view the length of services rendered in their previous organization and same has to bear by their earlier organization. They can have monetary benefits only for the period served in SKNAU, Jobner as per rule therein.
- A candidate who is already in regular service of the State Government, Government of India and other State Governments including institutions of Government of India, Government of Rajasthan and other State Governments except Private institutions or NGO’s, his/her salary shall be paid by the existing service rules of the GOR/University.
- Only those research publications will be considered for awarding marks which has been published from their Master’s or Doctoral Research work and/or published out from the project(s) work wherein he/she associated or worked as RA, SRF, JRF, STA and TA
- Any candidate joining the University will be placed on probation period as per GoR rules from the date of joining. During the probation, the selected candidate will be paid fixed emoluments per month permissible as per No.F.3(22)Agri-3/2018 dated 25.07.2019; and will be placed on regular pay scale after completion of the probation period satisfactorily. An existing employee already in regular service shall be governed by the existing service rules of the university/GoR.
- In subjects where NAAS rating research papers are not available, the referred papers having ISBN numbers /impact points will be considered.
- Any corrigendum related to advertisement shall be uploaded on University website only. The candidates must see the University website regularly.
- All matters related to recruitment shall be subject to jurisdiction of Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur.
