The School of Graduate and Professional Studies announces the Graduate Studies Scholarship (GSS) competition for the fall 2023 term! This competitive, non-need-based award is now open to both prospective and newly matriculated graduate students for fall 2023.

Graduate Studies Scholarships (GSS) are merit-based awards focused on recruiting and retaining a talented and diverse group of student leaders who bring a fresh perspective to their program of choice and have a commitment to improving the social, economic, and civic engagement in Connecticut.

***Applicants should carefully review the eligibility requirements prior to completing an application. The GSS application deadline is Friday, March 24, 2023 at 4:00 PM. The eligibility requirements are listed below and determination is contingent upon the following criteria:

1. A complete GSS application by a prospective or newly matriculated graduate student for summer/fall 2023;

2. A completed summer or fall 2023 graduate application and/or acceptance to a Master’s degree, sixth year professional diploma, or doctoral degree program at Southern Connecticut State University;

3. A minimum 3.2 grade point average (GPA) for all undergraduate coursework and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 for all completed graduate coursework; and,

4. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 4.5 credits of coursework for a part-time GSS or 9.0 credits of coursework for a full-time GSS during the year of the award, by the first day of fall classes.

Awardees will be announced in mid-late April.
