निम्नांकित विषयों में सामान्य / पि.व. (creamy layer) के लिए न्यूनतम 55% (पचपन प्रतिशत) तथा अ.ज.जा./अ.जा./अ.पि.व. (non-creamy layer) / आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग (economically weaker section) / दिव्यांग श्रेणी (differentially abled) के लिए 50% (पचास प्रतिशत) अंक के साथ स्नातकोत्तर परीक्षा में उतीर्ण अभ्यर्थी पीएच.डी. कार्यक्रम में नामांकन हेतु विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा आयोजित की जाने वाली प्रवेश परीक्षा, 2024 में सम्मिलित होने के लिए विहित प्रपत्र में आवेदन दिनांक 04/01/2025 को अपराहन 4.00 बजे तक निर्धारित परीक्षा शुल्क आवेदन शुल्क सहित रु. 2,000.00 (दो हजार रुपये) राँची विश्वविद्यालय में जमा किया जा सकता है।

डाउनलोड किये गये आवेदन पत्र निर्धारित परीक्षा शुल्क आवेदन शुल्क सहित का बैंक ड्राफ्ट जो कुलसचिव, राँची विश्वविद्यालय को राँची में देय होगा के साथ परीक्षा नियंत्रक, राँची विश्वविद्यालय के कार्यालय में जमा किया जा सकता है अथवा निबंधित डाक द्वारा निम्न पते पर भेजा जा सकता है।

Ranchi University Ph.D Entrance Test 2024
The Ranchi University Ph.D Entrance Test 2024 will be conducted in OMR Based mode as per the time schedule specified in the Information at a glance, in the Subjects given at Appendix -I in different centres in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Ph.D Entrance Test 2024 will be conducted in OMR Based mode for the qualifying exam.
Pattern of examination
The pattern of examination will include written exam and interview/ viva voce. Viva voce / Interview will be conducted of those students who qualify in the written examination.
The written exam will be of 70 marks whereas 30 marks has been allocated to the presentation on research ideas/ design by the candidate.
Entrance Test will be a multiple choice test; each question will have four options with only one correct answer.

Medium of Question Paper
The medium of Question Paper shall be in English except language papers.
Marking Scheme
Each question carries 01 (One) mark. For every correct answer candidate will get one mark and 0.5 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
If a question is found to be incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit.
If a question is found to be incorrect and the Question is dropped, then One mark (+1) will be awarded to only to those candidates who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error.
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D Test 2024
Qualifying Examination:
The following are eligible to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme: Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have successfully completed:
- A 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree programme (after 4 year undergraduate degree)with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 10- point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by a Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any ot statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards educational institutions.
- A 2-year/4-semester Master’s degree programme, with the same conditions as in se clause 1 above;
- A candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with Research should have a minimum CGPA of 7.5/10.
- Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a Foreign Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
- A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and recommended for award of the degree, may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme in any Institution on a provisional basis even before the viva-voice or final defence.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently- Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision3 of the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their master’s degree before 19th September 1991.
Note: The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures, if any.
- A relaxation of 0.5 score, i.e. CGPA of 7/10 or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled,
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
Exemption (Eligibility for Ph.D Entrance Test 2024)
NET-JRF Candidates are exempted from the entrance test. The selection of the NET- JRF candidates will be on the basis of their performance in the interview/ viva-voce.
Merit list of Entrance Test: Ranchi University PhD Admission 2024
The Qualifying marks of the entrance test will be 50%. A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance Test for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/ differently-abled category, economically weaker section (EWS) candidates. On the basis of mark obtained in entrance Test, merit list will be prepared of eligible candidates for interview/ viva-voce.
The final merit list will be prepared after the interview/ viva voce of all shortlisted candidates is over. The weightage of marks taken into account for preparing final merit list will be 70% for the entrance test and 30% for the performance in the interview/viva- voce.
Reservations
Reservation Policy of the Government of Jharkhand is applicable to the Ph.D entrance exam 2024. According to this, the reservation of seats shall be as follows:
10% of the seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.
26% of seats Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
14% of the seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Annexure-1=8%, Annexure-II=6%) 10% of the seats for General-Economically Weaker Sections (General-EWS) candidates.
Instructions for filling Application Form: Ranchi University PhD Admission 2024
Candidates have to download the application form for Ph.D Entrance Test 2024 by accessing the website: https://ranchiuniversity.ac.in. The incomplete Application Form would not be accepted in any case. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will be rejected.
Information Bulletin should be downloaded and read carefully by the candidate to be sure about his/her eligibility and acquaint themselves with requirements for submission of Application Form.
In order to avoid correction in the particulars in later stage, the candidate should exercise utmost caution while filling up correct details.
Fees for Ph.D Entrance Test 2024
The requisite foes for the Ph.D Entrance Test 2024 is Rs 2000.000 (Rupees Two thousand only.
Admit Card for Ph.D Entrance Test 2024
The Admit Card would be provisionally issued to the candidates of Ph.D Entrance Test 2024, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
The candidate has to download the Admit Card from the website of Ranchi University, and appear for the Examination at the given Centre on date and time.
In case a candidate is unable to download Admit Card from the website, he/she may approach the Examination section of Ranchi University between 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM or email at [email protected].
The candidates are advised to read the Instructions given in the Admit Card carefully in advance of the exam day and follow them during the conduct of the examination.
In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures shown in the Admit Card and Confirmation Page, the candidate may immediately approach the Examination section of Ranchi University between 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM. In such cases, candidates would appear in the Examination with the already downloaded Admit Card.
Conduct of Exam: Ranchi University PhD Admission 2024
Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given on the Admit Card carefully before going for the Examination.
Documents to be brought to the Examination Centre
Candidates must bring the following documents to the Test Centre Printed copy of Admit Card downloaded from Ranchi University, Ranchi website.
One passport size photograph. Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired)-PAN card/ Driving License/Passport/ Aadhaar Card).
Reporting Time and other Important Instructions
(i) The candidates shall report at the Examination Centre two hours before t commencement of the examination so as to complete the frisking and registrati formalities well before time. Registration desk will be closed 30 minutes prior to t examination.
(ii) The candidates are advised to read the instructions in the Information bullet carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination.
(iii) Candidates should take their seat immediately after opening of the Examination Hall. If the candidates do not report in time due to any reason i.e. traffic jam, train/bus delay etc, they are likely to miss some of the general instructions to be announced in the Examination Rooms/Halls.
(iv) The candidate must show, on demand, the Admit Card for admission in the examination room/hall. The Test Centre Staff on duty is authorized to verify the identity of candidates and may take steps to verify and confirm the identify credentials. Candidates are requested to extend their full cooperation. A candidate who does not possess the valid Admit Card shall not be permitted for the examination under any circumstances by the Centre Superintendent.
(v) A seat indicating Roll Number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates should find and sit on their allocated seat only. In case of a candidate who changes room/hall or the seat on his/her own other than the one allotted, candidature shall be cancelled, and no plea would be accepted for it.
(vi) The candidate should ensure that the question paper available is as per his/her opted subject indicated in the Admit Card. In case, the subject of question paper is other than his/her opted subject, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned.
(vii) Candidate may approach the Centre Superintendent/Invigilator in the room for any assistance including first aid emergency or any other information during the course of examination.
(viii) For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of test for any reason, re-test shall not be held by the University under any circumstances.
(ix) Candidate must not use headphones, ear buds, smart watch, calculator or any other type of electronic gadgets. Candidate must not use a phone for any reason.
(x) Candidates should carefully read the instructions given in the question paper booklet and OMR before they begin to mark their answers.
(xi) Soon after the question booklet is given to the candidate, he/she should ensure before writing his roll number that it is sealed and contains all the pages and no question is missing.
(xii) Entry of booklet number and series code on OMR should be done only after getting proper question booklet and satisfying yourself.
(xiii) Do not use Eraser, Correcting Fluid or Blade to make any correction in OMR.
(xiv) The candidate should indicate the right answer on the OMR by blackening the circle with black ball point pen, otherwise his/her answer will not be evaluated.
(xv) If any candidate blackens more than one option for a particular question, it will be treated as wrong answer.
(xvi) Candidate must ensure before submission that their OMR has been duly signed by the Invigilator,
(xvii) The candidate should not write his/her name or any sign/mark at any place on the OMR sheet, which may disclose his/her identity else their candidature will be cancelled
(xviii) Candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before completion examinations.
Display of Provisional Answer Key(s) for Challenges
Provisional Answer Key(s) will be displayed on University’s website https://ranchi university.ac.in/; after the completion of the examination. The Provisional Answer Key(s) are likely to be displayed for two to three days.
The Candidates will be required to pay an amount of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) through D.D. in favour of Registrar, Ranchi University, Ranchi per answer key challenged, as processing fee which is Non-Refundable.
Only paid challenges made during the stipulated time through the key challenge link will be considered. Challenges without justification/evidence/after stipulated time period and those filed on any other medium other than the prescribed link will not be considered.
The Ranchi University decision on the challenges shall be final and no further communication will be entertained.
The subject experts will examine all the challenges received and then a final answer key will be displayed and declared.
The result will be compiled based on the final answer key declared. No grievance with regard to answer key(s) after the declaration of result will be entertained.
Validity of the Result
The Validity of the Result of the previous Ph.D. entrance test of the University shall cease to be operative from the date of publication of the result of the succeeding Ph.D. entrance test.
