IIT Indore invites applications from highly motivated, sincere, hardworking, and research-oriented candidates for the position of a postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Dr. Bapan Ghosh, Department of Mathematics, IIT Indore.

Project title     :             Delay Differential Equation Models in Population Dynamics: Theory, Methods and Computations

Funding agency      :      Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi, India

Position                 :       Research Associate (one post)

Project details

● Formulating some population dynamics models using ordinary, partial and fractional differential equations involving time-lag

● Investigating different bifurcations in mathematical models and establishing new theory in ecological systems

● Developing algorithms to solve delay differential equations numerically

Qualifications

PhD in Mathematical Science with publications in reputed journals. However, candidates submitted their thesis may also show interest for a possible opportunity.

Emoluments                 Monthly Rs. 47,000/- + HRA (as applicable)

Duration

Six (6) months (extendable up to 10th January 2024 or termination of the project whichever is earlier).

Duties/Assignments

• Working on the project and derive new results
• Mentoring MSc and PhD scholar in the group
• Discussion and presentation of new ideas with group members
• Preparing teaching material and performing TA duties
• Take part in department activities
