Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT-2025)
Online Applications are invited for Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT-2025) for admission to the Ph.D. Course. Interested and eligible applicants can fill up the online application form through the University Website: www.ppup.ac.in from 30.01.2025 to 15.02.2025 (With Late Fee up to 22.02.2025).

Criterian for appearing in the Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT-2025) are as follows: –
A. Candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Programme should have a Master degree with at least 55% Marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ on the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in the subject/in allied subject from recognized university.
B. A relaxation of 5% of marks i.e. from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/EBC/OBC/Differently abled categories of candidates.
C. A candidate shall be permitted to pursue research for the Ph.D degree in the subject in which he/she holds master degree/in an allied subject from a recognized University.(Applicants from the allied subject will be awarded Ph.D. Degree in the main subject only)
Note: -Appearing candidates are not eligible for Ph.D Admission Test (PAT-2025)
Exemptions from the written test of Ph.D Admission Test (PAT-2025): –
A. Candidates who have passed NET/JRF_or have secured grants for research such as fellowship/scholarships offered by DBT/ICMR/ICAR/DST/CSSIR/ICHR/ICPR etc. will be exempted from Ph.D. Admission Test.
B. Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor who have been appointed on substantive posts in the UGC Pay scale in the teaching Department of the University or Constituent Colleges of this University, who have completed their probation successfully. with an experience of at least two years of uninterrupted service would be exempted from the test. Teachers appointed on Self-Finance Courses and teachers belonging to those colleges running on self-finance basis will not be exempted from the test.
C. Non-teaching employees of this university, who have been holding substantive appointments for more than five years and have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree in the subject concerned and have published at least two research papers in any reputed referred journals or journals identified by the UGC would also be exempted from the test.
Note 1: Candidates exempted from PAT-2025 are also required to apply online with requisite fee.
Note2: Candidates of exempted categories will have to appear directly before the interview board as per schedule, along with the PAT-2025 qualified candidates.
How to Apply:
Candidates are required to visit University Website www.ppup.ac.in and follow the PAT-admission test link available on the main page of the website to fill out the admission application form.
The dully filled up and completed forms can be submitted online along with supporting documents and requisite Test Fee from 30-01-2025 to 15-02-2025 and up to 22-02-2025 with late fee.
Application Form in complete in any respect will be rejected.

A. General Category: Rs. 1500
B. Reserve Categories (SC/ST/EBC/BC/Divyang/Women): Rs. 1000
C. Late Fine: Rs. 500
Mode of Payment of Test Fee: –
Candidates are required to make Online Payment (Non-refundable) through the payment Gateway displayed while filling in the online application form.
Pattern of Test: –
Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT-2025) will consist of two papers of 100 marks each.
Paper-I: Shall consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions on qualitative teaching and research aptitude.
Paper-II: Shall also consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions from the Core Course of the PG Subject/Programme concerned.
Test of both the papers will be held in a single sitting of two hours and Thirty minutes.
The Question Booklet along with OMR Sheet of Paper-I will be given to the examinees on 11.00 AM. On completion of one hour and fifteen minutes (i.e. at 12.15 PM) candidates will be required to submit their OMR Sheet of Paper-1. After that, the Question Booklet of Paper-II will be issued to them at 12:30 P.M. They will have to submit the OMR Sheet of Paper-II on completion of another one hour and fifteen minutes (i.e. at 01.45 PM).
Note 3: There shall be no negative marking on any of the paper.

Note:-
1. PPU reserves the right to increase/decrease vacancies or add/ annul subject from the above table.
2. 50% of the in a reserved for seat subject shall be NET/JRF/DBT/ICMR/ICAR/DST/CSSIR/ICHR/ICPR candidates.
3. Seats for permanent teachers at constituent colleges of PPU shall be over and above the vacancy shown in the above table.
4. A list of allied subjects is enclosed in Annexure-I.

The Reservation policy of the State Government will be strictly followed for taking admission against vacancy.

- Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT-2025) shall be organized as per provisions contained in the Uniform Ordinance and Regulations issued by the Chancellor’s Secretariat vide memo no. BSU-05/2010-2684/GS-(I) dated 21.09.2017, Transitory Regulation vide memo no. BSU(UGC)-14/2020-1574/GS-(1) dated 20.08.2020, vide letter No. BSU(Regulation)-05/2010-1141/GS(I) dated 12/07/2024 and vide letter No. BSU(Regulation)-05/2010-1166/GS(I) dated 16/07/2024.
- The University reserves the right to revise, amend, update, or delete any part of this Notice without giving any prior information/notice. Any change, so made, shall be updated on the University Website.
- The process of filling in online application form is available on the university website: www.ppup.ac.in.
- Applicants are advised to check the portal regularly for any update. They are advised to keep them in regular contact of the website. No personal intimation will be given to them or any grievances relating to it will not be entertained.
- In case of non-compliance with any of the requirements for admission, including non-submission of relevant documents and/or non-payment of Fee within the prescribed date and time, the applicant will lose his/her right to admission.
