Application for Ph.D. Programme in Humanities and Social Sciences (Session 2023-2024) under Midnapore College Research Centre in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Applications are invited online from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. Programme in Humanities and Social Sciences (English 01, Sanskrit 01, Bengali 03, History 06, Political Science – 01, Geography03, and Education-02) for the Session 2023-2024 in Midnapore College Research Centre.
The Candidates will have to fill the application form through online portal of the College website www.midnporecollege.ac.in
After successful completion of all the steps (filling in the personal details. academic details, uploading photo and signature) the candidates will have to pay Rs. 500/- only (plus convenience fee & GST, if applicable) as application fee for the Ph.D. programme through online mode of payment (credit/debit card, net banking etc) only.

Eligibility Criteria: Midnapore College PhD Admission 2023-2024
A candidate having Master Degree in any one of the subjects English, Sanskrit, Bengali, History, Political Science, Geography and Education or a Degree deemed equivalent from any University or Institutions recognized by UGC or Such other Degree may be considered as sufficient condition if (S)He has obtained at least 55% (General Category), 50% (SC, ST, PH, OBC-A, OBC-B categories) marks. Provided that
A candidate who has completed at least a total of 5 years in UG and PG study in a recognized Institution or University.
The candidate who is not currently admitted as a student in any full time course of studies or registered for doing Ph.D. in any University.
Candidates who have qualified NET/SET/UGC (IRF)/M. Phil. or any other equivalent examinations.
Final Semester Post Graduate students may also apply for the Ph.D. Programme provided that they fulfill the above criteria at the time of admission.
No Written Admission Test / RET will be held. Only the eligible candidates with having NET/SET/UGC (IRF)/M.Phil. Qualifications will be called for Interview. However, Candidates who are RET qualified from Vidyasagar University in the session 2023-2024 may apply for Ph.D. programme of above mentioned Subjects and they will be called only for Viva-Voce.
Interview will be held at Vidyasagar University Campus.
