Duration of the Program
- PhD Program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years
- Women candidates and candidates with disability of more than 40% may be allowed a relaxation of two years for PhD in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D. for up to 240 days.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates for admission to Ph.D. programme at the time of application must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with at least 55% in aggregate or equivalent grade. For SC/ST/OBC (Non–creamy layer)/ differently abled candidates or those who had obtained their Master degree prior to 19th Sep, 1991, 50% marks are required instead of 55%.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates shall be admitted through merit of an entrance test and viva voce.
UGC/ State Govt. rules applied/ approved by coordination committee related to Ph.D. Programme shall be applicable from time to time.
Reservation:
The reservation policy will be as per M.P. Government, Higher education rules.
Application Procedure: Candidates can submit admission form through MPONLINE kiosk or using internet form their home through MPONLINE portal (https://mgcgv.mponline.gov.in) and making the payment through credit/ debit card or by net banking. Application/ Registration fee of Rs. 1500/- for General /OBC and Rs.750/ – for (SC/ST of MP and all Female Candidate). Rs. 150/- (MP online charges) will be charged by the candidate separately of any category. Late fee for all candidate is 250/- for all categories.

Ph.D. ENTRANCE TEST
The question paper of Ph.D. entrance test shall carry 70 marks. It shall comprise of two parts.
- Part-A shall consist of 35 objective type compulsory questions of 1 mark each based on research methodology.
- Part-B shall also consist of 35 objective type compulsory questions of 1 mark each based on the syllabus of the subject at Masters Level.
Instructions:
- There shall be no negative marking. The paper shall be of two hours duration.
- Passing percentage for this paper is 50% for all candidates.

M.Sc. (Ag) ENTRANCE TEST
- The question paper of M.Sc. (Ag) entrance test shall carry 100 marks.
- It shall consist of 80 objective type compulsory questions of 1 mark each based on B.Sc. (Ag) Hons. syllabus as per ICAR V Dean Committee report. However, 20 question consist of current affair and language (Hindi & English), having 1 marks of each questions.
