POSTS WISE DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW:

01. CURATOR (Archaeology) – 1 post

a.      Pay Level in Pay Matrix: Level – 11 (Rs.67,000 – 2,08,700/-) & other allowances as per 7th CPC, adopted by Indian Museum, Kolkata. Total emoluments (with 42 % D.A.) at starting is Rs. 1,24,637/- per month (approx.) at Kolkata.

b.     Age limit – Not more than 45 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India. Upper age limit is relaxable by the Board on the recommendations of the Selection Committee in case of candidates already in employment and also relaxable for the reserved categories, as per Government of India rules.

c.      Educational and other qualifications:

Essential Qualification –

i)                Master’s Degree from a recognised University in History or Ancient Indian History Culture and Archaeology (AIHCA) or Archaeology or Museology or Sanskrit or Pali or Prakrit or Persian or Arabic.

ii)               Evidence of published research work.

iii)              Computer knowledge in at least MS Office.

iv)              Work experience in a Museum of National or International repute with 5 years curatorial experience in Pay Level – 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) or 6 years curatorial experience in Pay Level – 8 (Rs. 47,600 – 1,51,100) or 7 years curatorial experience in Pay Level – 7 (Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400) or 10 years curatorial experience in Pay Level – 6 (Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400).

v)               Field experience and practical training in Archaeology

Desirable:

Experience of organising exhibition or educational activities.

Note 1:                Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the appointing authority on the recommendation of the Selection Committee or Departmental Promotion Committee, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

i)             M.A. in History (Ancient, Medieval, Modern) or English or Bengali or Persian or Arabic or Fine Arts or Mass Communication from a recognised University or Institution or equivalent.

ii)            Must have contributed articles in English or Urdu or Hindi or Bengali in reputed journals of Art or Literature or History.

iii)           Practical training in publication work, including layout, typography printing process, ordering blocks etc. proof-reading and copy editing.

Desirable: –

i)             Degree or Diploma in Journalism, printing technology.

ii)            Eight years’ experience in Publication, editing or printing work in any institution.

iii)           Knowledge of Computer Application or MS Office or Corel Draw or Illustrator or Page Maker.

      iv)           Eight years’ experience in the field of Publication or Editing or Copy Editing at a Senior level in a reputed Museum or Culture Government Institution or University.

06. DEPUTY CURATOR (Conservation) – 1 post

a.            Pay Level in Pay Matrix: Level – 10 (Rs.56,100 – 1,77,500/-) & other allowances as per 7th CPC, adopted by Indian Museum, Kolkata. Total emoluments (with 42 % D.A.) at starting is Rs. 1,05,033/- per month (approx.) at Kolkata.

b.            Age limit – Not more than 45 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India. Upper age limit is relaxable by the Board on the recommendations of the Selection Committee in case of candidates already in employment and also relaxable for the reserved categories, as per Government of India rules.

c.            Educational and other qualifications:

Essential Qualification –

i)             Master’s Degree with Chemistry or Conservation or Fine Arts with B.Sc. from a recognised University or equivalent.

ii)            Evidence of published research work.

iii)           Computer Knowledge in at least MS Office.

iv)           5 years’ work experience in a Museum of National or International repute with 8 years curatorial experience in Pay Level 7 (Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400) or Pay Level 6 (Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400).

Desirable: –

Degree or Diploma in Museology.

07. HEAD MODELLER – 1 post

a.                  Pay level in Pay Matrix: Level – 6 (Rs.35,400 – 1,12,400/-) & other allowances as per 7th CPC, adopted by Indian Museum, Kolkata. Total emoluments (with 42 % D.A.) at starting is Rs. 64,938/- (with 42 % D.A.) per month (approx.) at Kolkata.

b.                 Age limit – Not more than 30 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India. Upper age limit is relaxable by the Board on the recommendations of the Selection Committee in case of candidates already in employment and also relaxable for the reserved categories, as per Government of India rules.

c.                  Educational and other qualifications:

Essential Qualification –

   (i)              Degree or Diploma in Modelling sculpture from a recognised University or Institute.

(ii)              About 5 years’ experience in a responsible position of working on sculpture models and allied works.

Desirable: –

Knowledge of preparing diagrams and scale models.

Note –   Qualifications relaxable by the Board on the recommendation of the Selection Committee in the case of candidate otherwise well qualified.

08.  LIBRARY AND INFORMATION OFFICER – 1 post

a.                  Pay Level in Pay Matrix: Level – 6 (Rs.35,400 – 1,12,400/-) & other allowances as per 7th CPC, adopted by Indian Museum, Kolkata. Total emoluments (with 42 % D.A.) at starting is Rs.64,938/- per month (approx.) at Kolkata.

b.                 Age limit – Not more than 30 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India. Upper age limit is relaxable by the Board on the recommendations of the Selection Committee in case of candidates already in employment and also relaxable for the reserved categories, as per Government of India rules.

c.                  Educational and other qualifications:

Essential Qualification –

(i)           Masters or equivalent Hon’s Degree of a recognised University in Indian History or Anthropology or Arts.

(ii)           Diploma in Library Science of a recognised University or Institution.

(iii)         7 Years’ experience in a Library of standing in India preferably a Museum Library.

(iv)         Research experience with evidence of published research work in Archaeology or Art or Anthropology.

Note –   Qualifications relaxable by the Board on the recommendation of the Selection Committee in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
