Indian Railways is Launching Super App ‘SwaRail’

The SuperApp focuses on offering a user-friendly experience with a clean and seamless interface. It combines various railway services into one app, eliminating the need for multiple apps and saving space on your device.

Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the SuperApp integrates all public-facing applications of Indian Railways. Here are the services it offers:

  • Reserved Ticket Bookings
  • Unreserved Ticket and Platform Ticket Bookings
  • Parcel and Freight Enquiries
  • Train and PNR Status Enquiries
  • Food Orders on Trains
  • Rail Madad for Complaint Management

The SuperApp will be publicly available soon. It ensures seamless navigation by integrating all services of Indian Railways currently available in separate apps into one platform.

Unique Features of the SuperApp

  • Single Sign-On: Users can access all services with a single set of credentials. The same credentials will work across existing Indian Railways apps like IRCTC RailConnect and UTS Mobile App.
  • All-in-One App: Currently, different apps are needed for reserved and unreserved booking, and for checking train schedules. Now, all these services will be accessible through one app.
  • Integrated Services: The app delivers comprehensive information from multiple sources in a unified manner. For example, a PNR enquiry will also show related train information.
  • Easy Onboarding/Sign-Up: Users can sign up using their existing RailConnect or UTS App credentials. The sign-up process is simplified for better user experience.
  • Ease of Login: Multiple login options are available. Once logged in, the app can be accessed using either an m-PIN or biometric authentication.

Focus on User Feedback

The Ministry of Railways invites users to try the SuperApp during this beta phase and provide feedback. This initiative aims to leverage technology to enhance user convenience.

The CRIS team is closely monitoring the beta testing phase to ensure timely resolution of user feedback and suggestions. After thorough evaluation, the app will be launched to the public.

How to Get Started

  • Download the App from the Play Store or App Store as provided by CRIS.
  • Existing users of RailConnect or UTS Mobile App can log in directly with their credentials.
  • New users can register with minimal data entry requirements.

About the SuperApp

The SuperApp is a one-stop solution offering multiple public-facing services of Indian Railways, including:

  • Reserved and Unreserved Ticket Booking
  • Platform and Parcel Booking
  • Train and PNR Enquiries
  • Help through Rail Madad

Users can onboard using their existing RailConnect or UTS on Mobile credentials. The single sign-on feature reduces the need to remember multiple passwords.

On the first login, an R-Wallet is created for each user to facilitate ticket bookings. Existing R-Wallets from the UTS on Mobile App are automatically linked.

The app also provides a secure and convenient login option using a numeric m-PIN. For enquiries, users can log in as guests via mobile number/OTP.
